7-2 I recently sat in on a $1/2 nl live game at Showboat Atlantic City. There were already 7 people playing and as soon as I sat down I was told about the 7-2 prop. All you had to do was win the hand with 7-deuce - in any manner, bluff or win outright. The payoff was $5 from each player. I am a relatively tight player and the first two hands that I was involved in I was pushed off the pot by the same player - who caught me twice with 7-2. The very next hand I was dealt AA. I made eye-contact with the 7-2 guy as much as I could but would quickly look away, I raised pre-flp ($7) and he was the only caller. The flop came AQ8 rainbow. I immediately bet slightly more than the pot ($20) and he came over the top for double my bet so I dramaticaly paused for about 3 seconds then shoved all-in (he had about $85 left in his stack.) I figured he had top pair or middle pair and was calling what he thought was my 7-2 bluff. He called and turned over AQ and my top set crushed him. He told me that was exactly what he thought -that I had 7-2 and was trying to bluff and that his 2 pair would crush me. SO even when niether of us had 7-2 it helped the action. lol. It was fun. But I wouldn't like it online because online players always over-do it. |
