I actually do that sometimes in a tournament, provided that a few things happen. This means a short stack goes all-in, it gets folded to me when I'm sitting in the blinds, and I have such a big stack at the moment that it basically doesn't affect my stack much at all. If I believe I've got two live cards, I just might call. I do this because 1. losing the hand won't affect my stack much (for example the all-in is 3-4xBB and I've got a good stack) 2. I've got the chance to knock a player out putting me closer to the money. 3. If I do believe I've got two live cards, it's safe to assume I've got around a 35% chance of sucking out, or better.

Granted, I won't make the call with J5 or such, but still. To me, it's worth the gamble.
