Default The raise, reraise.

Ok to me this is the trickiest move in poker. Has it's pros and cons. A raise or reraise is good to get information we can all agree upon that Not to mention more Chips. But this leads to all sorts of problems and pitfalls. If done at the wrong time, can also lead to incredibly big problems especially if you catch a piece of the board. Huge variables are involved here obviously such as:

1 Being a ring game or tourney and if tourney stack size to blind ratio.
2 Preflop action Raise or not preflop and who. Is it a continutaion bet?
3 Raisers actual table image. Playing style that you are facing.
4 your actual position relative to the raise.
5 your actual hand relative to what hands you put him on.
6 the size of the bet compared to the size of the pot + if you think hes bluffing or betting
a weaker hand than yours.
7 Raise value if you think he will call or reraise you back.
8 Draw value what actual draws the board shows compared to your hand.
9 Who the actual raiser is you or the other person.

Theres more even but you get the point.

Now in my own ventures I know for fact that this is exactly where I always lose the most money. Be it by a wrong read, bluff, Bad beat Or just a cooler. I honestly find that flat calling a raiser that raised you is usally the best move. some ppl cant keep firing bullets if you flat call them. If they do you can usually get a bit of information here by there bet compared to table image + possible bluff on a draw ect, A secound flat call at turn is certain to provoke 3 real bet possibilities on the river ALL out push (3rd bullet), Value bet( milk you ), or hes going to check. Unless you Know for sure you have the best hand and with a high percentage of certainty, flat calling is usually best. It also gives a chance for you to catch up. But it also gives him a chance.

Right from the flop the pathway forks. Is the board safe enough for you to milk him a bit? Or do you want to get him out of the hand right away to avoid any possible cards that might be drawn to reduce you certainty percentage drastically. Does his table image you have of him make him crazy enough to call a big bet if you do? The biggest thing about a raise is it gives a chance to encounter a reraise and possible reverse milking situation Or like weve all seen so many people do shove all in on ya.
