what is a winrate i should be shooting for in 200 max? also after say 100k hands what winrate would resemble a player who should move up to 400 max?

6max a benchmark for top players is 12BB/100.

Would need to ask my mate for exact details - he's a big winner at $200NL 6max and is too scared to move up atm even though he's rolled cos "£200 is alot of money" and he's not sure he'd be OK with losing £200 on a cooler. Lol.

U can certainly run at 12bb/100 and ive done it for 50k hands at 100 nl, but it is above expectation. 5 bb/100 is crushing a game. I'd guess that max expectation for 200 nl 6max is between 6and8 bb/100. Anothing above 8 is simply running hot, and 12 is unattainable for stretches of a 200k hands or so, unless your jamie gold and jerry yang's lovechild (whom ive run across quite a few times online.)

No you should not be concerned about these figures while you play. In fact, even the people who worry about these numbers aren't thinking about them during play. These are numbers you look at while you are not playing to see if you are winning and how much you are winning. You should be logging your sessions and have a general idea if you are winning or not but you won't need to worry about these numbers. Even more, these numbers don't become accurate enough to use until you have them for several tens of thousands of hands.

These figures just represent how many big bets you are winning over a certain period of time. In the above case, it's over 100 hands. So a player who plays $1/$2NL (also called $200NL) and has a winrate of 4bb/100 is saying that they win a certain amount of money, on average, each 100 hands they play. A bb (big bet) is twice the size of the big blind (it's an old Poker Tracker convention and I won't bore you with the reason) so at $1/$2NL... the bb=$4. A player winning 4bb/100 is winning $16 every 100 hands they play, on average.

And everything else is just a discussion asking how much they should be winning if they want to move up to a higher level. But the short answer... no don't worry about this. You should be logging but as a beginner, I'd recommend using the easiest thing. And, as I mention in the following post: Be Honest with Yourself (and Log Everything) that happens to be a website that gives winrates as bb/hr ... how many big bets you're winning each hour. I think that is more than enough for a starting player to get an idea of how much they are winning. And it's also more meaningful since you're able to understand how much time an hour represents much easier than you are with 100 hands.

I was referring to 12 Big Blinds per 100 hands, ie $24/100 at $200NL.

So 12bb/100 or 6PTbb/100
