BETTER GET THERE - A JOURNEY
The purpose of this blog is to teach myself (and all the readers) how to become a successful poker player. This means starting from $2000 and working my way up to big games.
I will post statistics and strategies as well as stories and facts from the "real life" away from the computer.
Getting to be a successful poker player is not just about playing poker and thinking about it. It's also taking care of your health (both physical and mental), planning your future and other things that have nothing to do with poker.
Journey to big games starts now and I ... better get there.
| | WCOOP is starting in 5 minutes. I have to admit that I'm excited. I had my ex's goin' away party tonight and I ended up being there two hours and now I'm home for the tournament. Most likely this kind of excitement leads to early exit lol.
Let's see if I can edit this post with the hands I play, the interesting ones that is.

| | Subject says it all. I managed to just lose and lose even in PLO50 which is kinda depressing in a way. After reviewing my stats luckily I was mainly running below expectation but also getting myself in to marginal situations ending up drawing behind. I still need to work on that.
Now I'm gonna have break (maybe few tournaments) until WCOOP at Pokerstars which starts this Friday. I was lucky enough to get a stake to play most of the small tournaments.
Here is the schedule:... | Junior Member

| | I was playing in a $30 rebuy live tournament last Saturday ending up third. When we were three handed (three got money) two situations came up where our third, most inexperienced player made two tactical mistakes. I thought that these common situations are known by almost everyone and I can count on people playing accordingly.

We were three handed and blinds were 500/1000. I had 30k, 2nd had 13k and third had 1k. Guy with the 1k was on button and folded. I was... | Junior Member

| | Oh yeah, six more hours and I have four days of grinding time ahead of me. I have played a lot of tables at the same time and it seems that I keep losing because of that. So maybe I need to cut down the amount of tables to get my win rate positive.
During this four days I think I'm gonna use one day to try out some sit'n'go's and maybe some texas HU instead of grinding omaha.
I also play more MTT's because I don't have to wake up for work so early. Hopefully I have... | Junior Member

| | As I wrote in my last post every serious player should know how to calculate hand equities and everyone should also know those equities in common situations. One common and important situation is playing aces in reraised pot when there's still (much) more than pot sized bet behind. Omaha is a flop game (pre-flop edges are small) so it's crucial to know equity of aces and how to play them depending on the flop texture.
In the following examples I make few assumptions which are: 1)... | Junior Member
