Ferguson challenge gets a good start
Posted 4th July 2008 at 08:36 AM by mollila
On my first evening of playing the Chris Ferguson Challenge, I managed to build the 1,000 play money chip bankroll up to 349,000.
The buy-in to the freerolls is 500,000, but I'm going to listen to KayJay333's advice and first build the play money bankroll at least to a couple of million before playing freerolls. That was I have play money to work with for more freerolls.
I started off with playing the limit hold'em games until I had over 10,000 chips, and then two higher no-limit tables.
After getting 25,000 I moved on to 100/200 no limit omaha, and those games were great. Lots of loose actions and over sized bets and raises. Some good hits got me to 100,000, and I raised the limits to 1000/2000 and played more conservatively there, ending the evening at 349,000.
After this I am going to be more careful with the play money bankroll, now that I have a nice stack. The higher limit games seem to be almost as loose as lower, so it should be possible to cash in with strong hands.
