My Nickname...

Since it appears that people like to take things so literally these days, I will break my nickname down for you...

Q: Are you a pro? If not, why does your name say so?

A: I get this question a lot, and grow tired of repeating the answer, so here you go, for all to see:

I lived in the deep south for most of my life. Because of that, as you might expect, I have a bit of a southern twang in my accent.

My friends, with whom I play poker, started calling me "Lil' Lady Poker Pro" anytime I came around. "Lil' Lady" because I am Southern, and because I am a small woman, and "Poker Pro" because as of yet they have not been able to take me down in a game.

I do not consider myself a Pro, nor would I allow my Ego to get that big as to think that I might be able to shake a stick at a real Pro. Perhaps I could give them at least a good run for their money, but I am always humble in my abilities and easily accept my strengths and weaknesses.

So, for those who like to try and make stabs at me for my name, I can only say this:

Stop taking things so literal, and stop to smell the roses sometimes...a nice deep breath of fresh air really pays volumes for someone who spends the majority of their time trapped in a box...
