F*** Home Depot

There is nothing I hate more than some multi-billion dollar company that swears they are sooooooooo good and do sooooooooo much for soooooooooo many people...then turn around and treat their employees like shit. I'm so fed up with Home Depot right now, there are just no words to express my utter loathing for them at this given second.

As some of you know, I missed a whole week of work not too long ago with a shoulder injury. Now, most people in my position would have screamed "workman's comp" and got the company to pay for it. But me being the honest person I am, I shelled out $250 that I really couldn't afford to on the doctor visit and medicine with no insurance, and cost myself a week's worth of pay while recovering. It sucks to be a good person in this day and age.....but I could not in good conscience lie when I knew the injury did not happen at work.

Anyway, ever since I came back, the night manager has been treating me like absolute shit. I finally had enough of his attitude problem and went to the store manager about it, at which point I was told by him that "the night manager has the right to say whatever he wants to say" so in essence, my feelings or opinion don't mean shit, just as long as the work gets done. Then in the same breath, he says "we have the best team in the district, and you are part of that." Well whoopdeefuckindoo, let me do a cartwheel for ya, asshole.

So basically what I took from this was that as long as I remain an emotionless, opinion-less, senseless drone of a workhorse, they are happy, so who gives a damn how I feel?

Well, figuring that I might get a better response from the assistant store manager, I try talking to her. To my utter shock and disbelief, she came out with the exact same bullshit! What bothers me is they were so calm in reciting their seemingly pre-rehearsed responses, I can't help but wonder if this is a common problem they have. It's no wonder they can't keep people...someone would have to be completely (excuse the term) retarded to work there and put up with that shit.

Well, although I'm far from retarded, I'm somewhat trapped at the moment. Our bills have risen, and Carrie's schedule has changed, so now we cannot afford for me to quit and find another job. Not to mention our having to share the same car will pose another hurdle. I fear if I stay and put up with the belittlement for much longer, Home Depot is going to need some charity itself, because I'm going to end up tearing that place down one board at a time.

If all the other stuff wasn't bad enough, check out what happened tonight....this is what iced the cake for me....

Last night our manager told us that we would be getting off early tonight, and that if anyone wanted to come in an hour early to make up the lost time they could. Well, I didn't have any intention of coming in early after all the BS I've been going through, so I came in at the regular time. No big deal, nothing was said, fine....

At a quarter to eleven, I pick up a dust mop and get ready to clean the store (as I always do 15 minutes prior to clock out time). My boss rounds the corner and says all pissy, "No no we not sweepin right now...what time you came in?" (He has a Jamaican accent if you can't tell) So I say "I came in at 8..." So he says all pissy again, "Well you came at 8 then you leave at 12...other people that came in at 7 can go at 11..." So I say very calmly "Oh okay I guess I misunderstood what you said yesterday, that's fine..." and I went to put up the broom, and grabbed a ladder to go do some down stocking to kill the time.

Then he walks up on me and goes "Nah nah nah don't worry with that just, I tell ya what I leavin at 11 so you go too, just go sweep and you leave at 11!" So again, I say "It's really fine I don't mind staying until 12 that's the normal time anyway..." And he gets pissy and say "No you don't wanna stay you go it's fine whateva." So now you're not only an asshole, you're a mind reader as well? Nice...

Okay now you tell me how fucked up this is? Last night he says we all leave early...then today he changes it at the last possible minute, and then when I am cooperating and willing to stay, he changes his mind yet again in the same breath and says leave!?!?!? Do you see now why I'm losing my mind and my patience?

If that wasn't bad enough, another girl asked him the same exact question, and he told her SHE could STAY! Meanwhile I am standing right there and he just gives me this jackass look and says "let's go I gotta get outta here go clock out and let's go!" WTF???

I'm so fed up and so over it you just have no idea...I'm too intelligent and too much of a worker to be treated like a common maggot, and talked to like an idiot.

This is just a few examples, mind you...the list could go on for days...I'm just sooooooooo over it!!!
