Bad Beats

Posted 25th April 2008 at 03:44 AM by slick7545
Don't you ever get those days where you feel like just quitting all together and never wanting to play again? When you just start losing every Pocket AA,KK,QQ and you never seem to win? Well, today is one of those days. Heck, I've had like almost 30 A,K A,Q and I think i won maybe 4-5 times i'm not exactly sure. But when you start losing everytime with the hands with well, In my opinion the best % of chance to win in NLHE... It kind of gets to you under your skin doesn't it? Maybe its just me being a compulsive gambler who isn't just betting like crazy and greedy but likes to gamble and thinks clearly but still ends up losing..... *sigh* Its just one of those days you gotta stop. Go out, watch a movie. Hang out with some friends and let your mind at ease. Cuz if your mad and playing, 99.9% of the time you'll lose making a mistake.

sympathy

I sympathize with you, but one thing we all have to remember is that everyone is not as good as the next person. What I mean by that is, you seem to be a good player...you seem to know what hands are considered good to play and which hands should ultimately have the odds to win. But you have to remember that just because you are good and play properly that the other players (especially online) may not be so good or so knowledgeable.

So, in conclusion, one can say that more often times than not, you can blame a bad beat (or a string of them) to the lack of experience of the other player(s). They may not know just by looking at the board what they might be beat by.....they might just be looking at their own hand and thinking "oh boy, I got a pair...I call." Next thing you know, your AA is beat by 7 2 because the not-so-good player caught his second pair on the river...and you're left wondering, why?

So just try to keep that in mind when playing, and don't let it get you down. It doesn't always mean you are making mistakes.....sometimes, it really can be blamed on the other guy.
