Default Rakeback and Ultimate Bet...

So thanks to the schedule change only 32 of 137 people who qualified for the ultimatebet Aruba freeroll got to play in the tournament.

I got to this tournament an hour and a half earlier than the e-mailed time, and was unable to play in it because the starting time did not match the advertised time. This is not only a disappointment, but I will now be looking to move sites and no longer be affiliated with ultimatebet or rakeback.com. Advertising the heck out of something to generate extra income and then not delivering on the terms that were promised is unnacceptable.

Time differentials are why I always keep track days ahead of time before an event starts to ensure that I know the exact start time.

The e-mail said 3:00 p.m. eastern time. It started at 1 p.m. eastern time. I checked the tournament when I first received the e-mail, and it said the same that the e-mail did. I just cashed out of ultimatebet completely... minus the $0.83 that is left. Unfortunately, I'll be recieving rakeback there soon as well that won't be large enough to just cash that out... so I will have some money sitting there. I'll probably just burn it to either get it up to the required $108 or waste it away so that it's not just sitting in a dormant account.

Nah...listen hun, things happen sometimes.....everything can't always be 100% perfect.

Don't let one error distract you from your long term goals. Consider it a bad beat, and move forward.

Would really hate to see you leave based on something like this.

Best wishes!

I need to take a break from poker and focus on school more anyway... senior year in college is going to require more work than I bargained for... this is merely making it really easy to do so. I play live still, but now that I've cashed out, I won't be redepositing anytime soon. I've been wanting to move away from ultimatebet anyway. I know things happen. I was just looking forward to playing in the excitement of such a big tournament that I normally couldn't afford to play in. I just don't understand how an online tournament schedule would get moved to a different time... it's not like they have to have dealers ready and such, but whatever... I'm not leaving poker forever, just the current set up of online poker.

Well that much I can totally respect and understand. I don't blame you for wanting to leave UB anyway...never really cared much for that site myself.

Hope you have good luck and best wishes with school.

Still gonna stick around and hang out with us here once in a while I hope?

Lol, I'll be sticking around to occassionally play pinch hitter... that's been a pretty good zone out/stress relief game. Plus I like the forums, but when I come back to online poker, I'll be shopping around for better rakeback_deals and I won't feel bound to this site for that part.

That's good to hear. Whenever you get ready, why not check into Nordica for a rakeback deal. That's been my #1 site since I signed up there. You earn points super fast at that site, and their freerolls have very large payouts...weekly 10K and monthly 50K.

Just a thought for future reference...just keep it in your back pocket

I've signed up for nordica for a freeroll that happened... ironically the time was wrong on that as well, and because of the way my schedule was, I had to try to force stuff to happen in it to get it over soon. lol... seriously.

But yeah, I am over there... I just don't really play there. How do deposits/withdrawals go over there?

They work very well for me. It's one of the few that I am able as a US player to deposit with my Visa, and receiving a check is very easy. They have very good support as well. So far I've been very pleased with Nordica for those reasons.

Congrats Checkarava for winning the prize package... sick 3 outter catch on the turn with that K on the last hand, and earlier, heidithehoe let you catch that sick 2 outter on the river. Well played.

I finished 5th in this thing. I was one of the two biggest stacks with 5 left but I guess my oppenents QJ was strong enough to commit half his stack preflop. He caught, I didn't, but figured was pretty much committed to a 10k pot with only 5K left behind at that point. AK no good. I saw he went out fourth, not sure how that was possible when he had about 25k chips after that hand? I mean, there was only 48k total in play, lol.

I didn't check the email, just looked up tourney on UB to see what the start time was. GG all.

We are sorry for any trouble caused by start times. This is the first time I hear about this.

In our Tournament Request to UltimateBet the Aruba tournament was requested to start at 13:00 EST as advertised, and UltimateBet sent out the invitation emails on September 5th. Apparently they had made a typo on the start time.

Hello,

There will be a $5000 tournament for all players that did not make it in time for the tournament.
The tournament will take place this coming weekend

We're really sorry this happened and hope that this tournament can serve as a compensation.

See now this is why I love rakeback so much...errors rarely occur, but if they do, rakeback always makes it right somehow.

Good luck in the $5K dew!!!

I just got this e-mail a little while ago for this tournament. Thank you to whomever worked on making this correction. I'm happy again. :-)
