AA cash game situation

I was playing some .25/.50 NL on Full Tilt tonight on a fairly tight 6 handed table. I'm second to act and I limp in with AA. I see a raise and then a reraise in front of me. Should I just flat call and see the flop or reraise in this situation? I really wanted to just call in and try trap the other person but lately and I'm so damn paranoid about getting my monsters cracked. I ended up reraising and much to my dismay, the other person folded. What's the right play generally in this situation?

yeah you have to reraise there because you dont know if the initial raise guy is going to call, dont like being 3 handed there. didnt work out as you would have wanted but a play you needed to make.

The question you should really ask yourself is...

winning $10+ worth it? If so then you did the right thing.

If you're thinking of winning a huge pot...then that's another story. Maybe calll and hope to catch him making another strong move when you have AA.

Playing AA is tricky. If you're content to win the $10 then raising is the right move. If you're thinking huge pot..then flat calling is an option but you have to be careful.

The thing is if you're trying to win more then you have to be pretty darn good with your post flop play and have the ability to get away from AA if you think you're beat.

Seems to me with you limping in with AA you wanted to try and win a huge pot but then you got cold feet and settled for the $10. Nothing wrong with that except you got what you were looking for a raise and re-raise and you go over the top. Nice move. But then you could've done that with any two cards and gotten the same result.

I think limping with AA is a great move provided you can outplay the other player post flop. From my experience, most players are horrible post flop and beyond (whether it be live or online).

I would be more interested to see how you played this hand if two or more guys limped in with you. From my experience guys overplay AA all the time, especially with the limp play. Then they lose their stack when somebody else picks up two pair or a drawing hand and they complain.

Are you prepared to fold your AA if you think you're beat?

AA preflop, keep rr until you have to get it in, never flat call imoh, unless you are prepared to lay it down post flop to any kind of resistance...............


If you are not prepared to do this, if you rr pre with AcAs and the flop comes down 678 all hearts, you have positiion, but villain bets pot into you, wtf you gonna do.

Think about how you are gonna react to the worst flops before you flat call re reaises pre with AA, if not be prepared to pay the reaper
