| It's just another example of people who do not know the game as well as others. You'll find these people everywhere. The key is to take advantage of it whenever possible, and try not to lose too much to them in the process. It's all you can do. Just don't criticize them at the table...you want them to continue making mistakes...it's how you'll win overall. ![]()

| I play tourneys mostly and I know it differs from cash tables. Calling any allin or going allin before the river can be treacherous, without the sure enuff nutts. Sometimes even thoo you feel you have the best hand, stop and take time and think it through... Like on the hand when you had 88, Since he went all in first, now your trying to beat him. I know it may sound crazy, but you want your opponent to try and beat you...this way your playing your best and not tilting and overplaying an average hand against a loose nutt. When he went allin, did you ask urself...(even if he has bluffed a few hands before, this usually follows with the loose nutt catching a power hand) does he have a bigger pkt pair, has he been playing any 2 such as 85 or 69 suited, Does he have overcards, is top pair worth going allin (this gets alot of people in trouble), could he have tripped,,,,, how many outs do i have if he has this or that. Do i have the chipstack to recover if im wrong. Its hard to fold the best hand, but when you can fold powerful hands like KK and such, you'll do better in the long run. Many times in tourneys it would be gut wrenching to fold my hand, but when theres to many possibile better hands or draws, you gotta let em go. When i come out on top and look back at the hard folds I made, I know it was indeed the right plays. BTW, this is just my 2 cents, I'm no pro, i don't have a PHD in poker, haven't read or wrote any poker books.Didn't sleep at a Holiday inn Express last night...lol.... just a low stakes online poker junkie. | Your read was correct but your advantage was only about 55-45% depending on suits. Even with a good read on this donk, is 88 the hand you want to call an all-in bet with. You have this bum pegged for money extraction, you could wait for a better situation. The title is ace anything, but this player did have two overcards (AJ not the best, not the worst) which made it a basic coin flip. Your are at .10-.25 table, not exactly high stakes. I would explect plenty of donkey action at these levels as there really is not much money at risk. No limit poker is a rough road to travel. The key is to stay within bankroll limits so these situations do not destroy your ability to bounce back and recoup your losses. Keep making good reads and play accordingly for the long haul. | It happens. You are a 3-1 favorite after the flop. You should be happy because you are going to win money over the long haul in these situations. Just remember when getting your money in 3-1 you will lose 25% of the time, THAT'S POKER, THAT'S WHERE YOU WANT TO FIND YOURSELF. |

| wut r some of u guys thinking? 55 45??? wtf lol, thats if ur all in preflop, its not even close to that. 88 is extremely dominant in that spot, are you people really telling me that if you knew he had to over cards with no other draw that u fold the 8s, that is just idiodic. AJ are two rags in that spot, never give a donk respect n lay 8s down there, that is playing way to passively, and also there is no better spot to catch him and double up, that is a perfect spot to get his chips, dont fold 8s knowing that he has two overs, thats just bad poker.
