Those are the limits I prefer and see as the means to turning pro. winrate of 3.5xBB/100 means $14/100 at 2/4. Since normally you'll see 70 hands per hour that comes out to $9.80/hr/per table. Anybody else hitting that? I am right now at about 2.4xBB/100 at 1/2 and 1.9xBB/100 at 2/4 which still leaves me way short of being able to devote 40-60 hours a week.

Sounds like you are only playing 1 table at a time. I think to go pro, you seriously need to be looking at multitabling. Even if you lose .5bb/100 by playing 4 tables, as long as you are still winning, your hourly rate will increase dramatically as well as your rakeback.

If you don't multitable already, I'd recommend starting slow and simply playing three tables. Do that for about a month to six weeks until you get comfortable then add a table. I would probably add one table from there every week or two until you get to six tables. Then see how it feels from there. If you don't multitable and try to hop right in, you are sure to lose money. That's a lot to focus on if you ar eunprepared.

I dont really get into all them bb/hour.....too much math, but I do keep a record of my winnings and losing and just average it out over the week....this does not include my rakeback. I play 1/2 nl and as stated above..3-4 tables is a comfortable amount for me so that I can concentrate and make notes. After a while if you are making notes, you will know who the sharks are and who the fish are since people are creatures of habit and play the same level. Anyway, I average about $450 a week for about 15-20 hours of play, which I am happy with, plus my rakeback which I consider a bonus. As for all that math junk, I dont mean to put it down ...if it helps you go for it, but my bottom line is am I playing the best poker I can for the hand Im in...and am I max my wins and min my losses...especially the second. My other rule is that if I get angry over a bad beat or start to play too many hands because Im bored with folding.....QUIT! Hope I helped you a lilttle...I dont post much in here but there is probaly a lot of advice you can get from these folks. Turning pro is tough, thats why I keep my day job...lol. The need to always produce can get very taxing over the long run if this is your only form of income and poker then can lose its luster. Anyway good luck and read ZEN AND THE ART OF POKER.....make it your bible.....it is by Larry Phillips and it has been the best $20 Iv ever spent!!!!!! ![]()
