The best part about this hand was the apolgy I got from him for making a bad read. What did he put me on AK? LMAO. Am I the only one who thought I had the obvious set by jamming the pot there. Was it not obvious I was trying to shove him off a potential draw.
I'm not really too terribly mad about the play. I've been playing too long to have not seen garbage like this before. It was mainly the comments after the fact that kgot me going.

I don't know. I always see these people posting bad beats (ie, all in with AA pre flop and get beat by KK or whatever) This one was way worse. He got lucky after making an incredibly horrible call.
I can totally see him sitting at his computer screen, holding his breath and clicking "Call" after seeing my all in of $40 into a $15-$16 pot. Only a retard would've thought they were ahead with 66 on a board of 4 9 10 8.

Anyways, thanks for reading. I'm feeling better now after sharing this wonderful poker moment with you all.

Where are you getting an extra out from? There are only four 7s in the deck. A 6 won't help him, besides there are two of those which would have made it six outs if they would help. I can't see more than 4 here.

Edit: A four-outer still stinks when it happens to you. But you have to love the one or two outers. Once you're looking at 21-1 or 43-1 odds in your favor and losing anyway... that is when you really start to wonder why you bother. Or, even worse, a player who hits runner, runner perfect to win -- like when they have a smaller pair to your set and hit runner-runner for quads. That is 989-1 against... and those days, you don't even want to bother any more.

I feel like you still played this hand terribly anyway. After you check the flop, raise and make a now normal sized all in on the turn.

I don't think I played this hand too terribly bad heads up. By jamming the pot right there, I figured I'd take it down, or if he calls I'm probably way ahead. There are many different ways I could've played this hand. Perhaps I could've slow played it to the river and got away from it, instead I decided to jam the pot when I was a %90 favorite to win the hand. I got the extremely loose and in my opinion bad call.

I'm not really that mad, I just always see posts about bad beats and thought I'd throw one in.

The part I found interesting was him making the call with 6 6 with 8,9,10 on the board and only one card to come. I understand if he put me on AK then the call is correct, but to call a bet that size in that situation with what you stand to lose doesn't seem like a smart and profitable play.

Anyways, I've seen and taken the one outers, the two outers, the three outers, the runner-runner to chop pots and the runner-runner to lose pots. I've runner-runnered people before and hit the one outer and two outer.

This post was mainly to contribute a random poker hand to the forum for observation. Thanks for all your input and comments.

I had a bad-timing hand last night. Two guys vs. me....both of them hadn't really had a hand to speak of...I had 99 and was short stacked, so I made my move. The other two guys call; the flop is a blank...the two guys raise and re-raise eachother until they are both all in...I couldn't believe what I saw...They BOTH had KK!!! I liked seeing that, but I didn't like not getting a 9 to help me out LOL So it wasn't a bad beat, just bad timing on my part. Just thought it was hilarious that they both had the Kings...LOL

Well the way you played it, you make his $4 bet and no more, when he folds to your overshove (as he should). He only really calls this shove when he has you beat. If you check call the flop it should be to check raise the turn. But this plan falls down when he takes a free card on the turn. To avoid this I'm raising the flop, hope he's got TPTK/overpair and calls/goes allin on the flop. If he calls, then I'm shoving the turn, by this stage its not an overbet after you c/r the flop.

EDIT: just noticed something else as well, with 2 spades on the board, the next card could potentially kill your action, and maybe even kill your hand. As its a wet flop I dont want to hang about, raise flop, and lead the turn
