Default Curiosity Killed the Stack...

Have you ever been so comfortable in a certain type of game that you felt obligated to try another variation of it to see if you would do just as good?

Did you end up losing because the variation you tried was so different than what you were used to?

As an example: Say you are comfortable with NLHE, and you decide to get froggy and play something like Razz or Omaha, having no developed skills for either of them.

Would you lose badly or donk your way to victory by means of sheer luck because in all honesty you have NO clue what you're doing? LOL

How do you think you'd do at a new variation of Poker that you've never tried before?

PS >> Don't give me that "I would learn and study first" stuff, that doesn't apply to the question at hand LOL I wanna know exactly this:

If you got froggy and decided to try a different game that you knew nothing about, how or what do you think you would do?

Just use your imagination........might be fun!

Well, as a player with tons of experience in dealer's choice games... I think I do fairly well when I experience a new form of poker. Of all of them, I think Omaha took the most getting used to because I was used to what wild cards and the bug could do to odds but not really in tune with how many combinations were out in a full omaha game.

Still, sit me down and explain the basics of the game before we start... and, at the very least, I believe I can hold my own.

When i firsst played omaha i just jumpoed straight into a tourney. I was dealt like 4 5's or 6's and was convinced that i would win with 4 of a kind lol. Everybody at the table was laughing at me.

I did the same in my first HORSE tourney when the razz gamke started. I had no idea it was a low hand game so of course i didn't last very long!!
