Double Up and Run?

Lets say your playing a cash table online and you double up, are you the type of person that leaves the table, moves to another and banks the profit or do you stick around? ( players at the table are average players )

I play mostly single and multi SNGs but if playing cash I play well within my bankroll so a double up is not such a big deal, no need to bank. I would play the table until I felt it was time to leave, it could be a lot more than just a double up opportunity, you could be at the table that loves to pay. The time to go could be after doubling up, but not unless I have been there a while. Unless the end of session, I am going to play more, why not play at a table that is paying.

Since i play heads up omaha the swings can be pretty crazy. So sometimes if the game gets really deep stacked if i double i will leave. But if is just for 1 buy in then no.

For me it depends on my BR if i am low in funds i might consider leaving the table, but normally i will stay.

One of the things I have found in online poker is that it can be streaky. I suppose this is true in live poker as well. If I get doubled up and on a good run I'll stay as long as possible. I once played online for 30 hours straight at the same table, because I simply could not lose. I started with 100 dollars and turned it into 1500 in one session at the 1-2nl tables.

I agree with Jake...if you're on a good run, ride it out. But just know when to notice when the streak has ended and then proceed to greener pastures (no pun intended)

never. I don't like the run 'n gun-type of play. I know I'm a decent enough player to make some money from the game, so I don't run, I just keep playing and possibly make more money. Personally, I hate those players who just wait for their chance to double up, and then immediately leave the table. These are usually short stack players that sit in the game with the minimum.

Agreed, Fictive...it drives me nutz when they do that...especially when they play some butt-ugly junk, get lucky, and then POOF...don't even get the opportunity to pay them back! LOL Some of them do it because they are bankin' but others do it because they know they played so badly, and they don't wanna stick around for the angry commentary that would surely follow their lucky suckout LOL

i definitely wait until i make 30-50% of the max buyin and then switch tables. i notice people tend to want to bust me all the time. besides im playing 12, 14, or 16 tables at once, so its pretty easy to do. make money, leave, sit new table. very profitable.

I don't get why anyone would do this. The only reason to run from a table is if you can't beat the players there. So I guess if you know you're not gonna beat the players at the table with your skill, then you can get lucky and double then run. But if you're better, you should be staying because you'll be making money by staying at the table.
