Default Folded AA post flop

AA: They say pocket aces are a good way to win a small pot or lose a big pot.

I'm at UB this morning playing NLHE (.25/.50) and in the BB I get AA. With 3 limpers I raise to $2.25. Two players call. I'm thinking"This is gonna be good."

Flop: 567 (rainbow)

I'm first to act and bet $3.75. Short stacked Player 2 goes all-in for $5, and Player 3 goes all-in for $22.40. The very first thought I have is P3 played suited connectors like 34 or 89, a classic way to bust a big hand. May be P3 has QQ or KK, but I don't wanna risk my whole stack, so I fold. Plus, if you see my other posts, online players are loose and will call with virtually anything. I'm leary. I dont fault P2 either, she only had $5 behind.

P2: AA
P3 8 9
Turn and river no help to P2.

Player 3 flopped the straight (567/89) . I pat myself on the back for a good lay down.

What would you have done?

$0.50 jackpot contribution is raked? what does that mean?
do you have to pay more rake so that when someone hits a royal flush or something they get a jackpot? weird. glad FT doesn't do that, you must pay loads in rake.

as for the hand, i think i'd have been able to lay this down here too. that is a dirty board for aces, and it's almost certain at least one of them has 2 pair/set/straight.
always hate seeing flops with 8/9/T/J in them when you have aces - people just love to call raises with stuff like JT.

Good lay down considering that is a very dangerous flop for your aces. Bravo.

Pretty easy to lay it down when the 3rd player shoves

Default how could you do that

AA fold. WOW
You had the feel and the right one indeed.
Play the AA harder next time, see what happens....
I am all for going for the gut feeling in a situation like this.
Trust your gut. Looks like you did, congrats for the savings.
But next time push hard with AA to avoid the suckout.

That's an automatic fold. Calling there would be absolutely horrible. Against the short stack player, naturally a call, but once the third guy shoved... auto muck. You were easily against a straight or a set. Good fold.

Good fold. I would probably bet a little more on the flop, but after the 3rd player shoves, you have to fold unless you think he would make that play with a smaller overpair. But it's going to be a straight/set, or even 2 pair way too often there.

Your lucky on how that hand was played. I mean If P3 plays that flop like I would have you woulda probably been forced to bust out. I woulda smooth called hoping you either tripped a low pair or have AK or an overpair. Then you would be forcewd to call. And hope the flop either favors you or makes you think in just stringing along praying for a good river. Then I can check the turn and with an overpair you are forced to bet to keep any chasers away and I can go over on you and at that point you would be much more pot commited.

Default You're Right - He coulda made more

[quote=bowlaman;28317]Your lucky on how that hand was played. /QUOTE]

Afterwards, I was thinking the same thing. If he had slow played the str8 on the flop and just called the $5, I would have called to. Then he makes reasonable bets on the turn and river heads up with me and I likely would've called. He coulda made more.

Stupid shove by the the suited connector player. I think he/she would've gotten more vaule out his her hand.

I mean think about it, why call a pre-flop raise with 8/9 hearts, get the nuts on a rainbow flop then not get paid off more? Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Another dumb thing is why play short stacked if you're going to call with 8/9 suited? I'd much rather play big stacked if I'm going to play these spec hands, that way if you hit the board you're going to get paid off much more than the $12 that this clown got paid.

If he/she had played this hand just right and he had a decent stack he could've tripled up big time. It's these hands that win you huge pots. But this person obviously isn't a good player because he/she didn't maximze the value of the hand.

Just awful poker and awful money management.

I also think that laying down Aces against these players is a no-brainer. I wouldn't think twice about folding AA in this spot. The OP should thank the poker gods for playing at such a horrible table.

Another thing, why didn't the other person with AA re-raise you? She Devil is just begging for somebody with a spec hand to enter the pot and take down her aces. Again, just plain horrible, awful, money losing poker if you ask me.

its just a classic case of bad beat internet poker. even if it would have flopped a-k-q you would have on the internet you would have still had the same gut feeling and probably would have been wise to fold the same

Default Lol wat?

If the flop is AKQ don't ever fold. Literally ever.

Also Gainer, make it more pre, at least $3. And yeah, reasonably easy fold postflop. Nightmare flop.
