Fullt Tilt Iron Man Chip
I qualified for Silver this month so I'll have the option of having the little Iron Man chip thing next to my name at the tables. I'm curious as to what you guys think of this. Could it possibly kill action at low stakes when people see it? Since you have to be a somewhat respectable player to get iron man, I have the feeling it might scare some people away from calling my bets when I have a hand. On the other hand, it may make c betting more profitable. Just wanted to get a second opinion.

For the most part, when I've played with someone with an iron man chip, it didn't seem to make much difference in the play. I think people are getting used to seeing it now. If anything, people might just ask you what it means. Just tell 'em it means you play a lot. Mostly though, it just seems like people mostly ignore it these days. I can't really say this made a difference, but there was one time I was playing with a guy with the iron man chip and he was ultra aggressive, so everyone always folded to him... but I don't think it had much to do with his chip... you can't really play a lot of hands with someone that aggressive anyway, chip or no chip. *shrugs* I dunno, I wouldn't worry too much about it... let your avatar wear it with pride! You earned it! ![]() /

You can always try it out and see if players play differently against you. On the other hand if you are happy with your win% why change anything?

It doesn't necessarily discern if a player is good or bad. Hell, people can get silver by playing enough tables long enough everyday with even micro limits like $5 and $10 buyin tables. Also, you could have players who just play $100 or $200 tables for just a half hour or so a day. The main things that I watch for is how often people are playing hands, what sort of hands they are playing and how they are playing those hands. That's going to tell you the difference between the good and bad players.

I always hide things like that. Just personal, but I figure the less available information, the better.

From a personal point I have qualifed for Iron Man for the past nine months and have the chip displayed To me playing against someone it doesnt mean really anything I will continue to play my normal game no matter if they have the chip or not What I feel FTP need to do is change the colour to indicate your level all it says is you have made it not what level you achieved A good example is PStars who show what level you are I dont play there ne more as "U no pay me da rake, I no play on your site" Just my thought to improve the program |
