Default How many play for real money?

I play online from time to time and usually at the free sites. Is there anyone on here who plays real money online? I was wondering do you actually win or have you lost more money than you won? I had a friend who racked on an online casino once but never could win again.

I play real money but the lowest limit that most sites have. I have not lost any money but I have not really won any money. Really I make more money just play for the bonues that the sites offer. But once I have cleared them I just seems to tread water. But playing dollar tournments I don't really plan to get rich.

I play for real money at times but like Liz I don't play the full amount. I have won my money back and then some occassionally but never enough to make a it worth betting a lot of money.

I play only for real money now. Once you start playing for real money, it is hard to go back to playing pretend. We won't ever get rich with it. But, I have been able to withdraw twice and have been playing with winnings for quite a while now. Once we get over $100 we withdraw $75 and start again at $25. I know it is small potatos, but it is fun and we aren't going to lose the house.

I know I have tried to play a in fake money games and its just pointless. I don't play right cause its not real money and I probably just screw the game up for others. But really I just bored with it and go all in. Cause well I can just get more chips

I play for real money. It is just not the same if your just playing it for fun. It's a great feeling when you win other people's money. It's not such a good feeling when you loose. I try to keep a minimum that I play so I don't loose too much. I try to play conservative and raise only when I have really nice cards. A sure way for me to win.

I have actually not played for real money. I get too freaked out at the possibility of losing.

Now I do agree that the competition and the game is different in these cases. People aren't as serious. I probably get more than my share of yahoos who bet recklessly because they have nothing to lose. That IS annoying, I must admit.

I should probably start playing for money but with something very small, and go from there. Maybe only $25 or so, that way if I lose, it's almost the same as if we spent that 2 hours at the movies instead.

I do play for "fake" money from time to time, but always come back to real money games, be they in real life or online.

I guess I am just a gambler at heart.

I also am playing for real money, though I have started playing with those fake money just to practice more on my skills.

I guess many are afraid on playing for real money not just they are afraid of losing, but also afraid of getting scammed.

Getting a real good casino to gamble with my money is which I am very much particular of.

I usually play for real money. I mean, I do sometimes just play for fun, but it adds a little more risk and requires a little more concentration on my part when its my money at stake. I think everyone who plays poker plays it for the thrill. I feel good at the end of the night when I know I have made $80.00 off of only $10.00. Sometimes it even doubles my weekly pay ( though I rarely go for really high stakes).

I like to play with real money, but it's more fun if it's someone else's money. I tend to be bolder if there is nothing for me to lose personally and all for me to gain.

I started playing online poker for fun money, but soon realised that it is not quite the same. There is no sense of victory if you win the game. However, even if you just win a few dollars of real money, there is a sense of satisfaction.

Fun Money is good if you are just learning, but you cant beat the real thing!!

I disagree a bit. Play money is only good for learning the controls of the poker client. Playing for play money does not prepare you for real money games. Do not try to learn poker by playing for play money. Play money is play money, and accordingly the playing style is much moore loose than at real money games.

You will lose your money if you play at real money tables the same way as you would on play money tables.

I play for both. When playing for money I have a set amount of money to use for that particular entertainment. For the most part I am always a winner, I do not play high stakes. I like to stretch out my nickles lol. I get to play longer that way and maybe rake in some more playing money.

I used to play for real money but never could draw a card when I needed it. Conversely, I would lose hand after hand on the river when I was ahead in the hand with a 90-95% to win when a player would draw the only card he could draw to beat me.

That never happened when I played with play money, so I quit donating money to the casinos and play only on PokerStars for play money now.

When I started to play Online Poker I played with Fun Money.

In the early days this was a very useful way to learn, but as I got better it became obvious that I needed to feel some "risk" to build up my experience.

I soon moved onto Real Money and it is a totally different game to Fun Money, you feel your heart pumping, you get nervous, and best of all, there are some big pots to win!!
