I almost felt bad about this one.
So I am goofing around this morning playing some $4NL when the following hand came up. 0: Hero: $6.54 1: CO: $0.94 2: Button: $3.66 3: SB: $4.34 4: BB: $4.00 6: UTG: $1.12 7: UTG+1: $1.14 8: MP1: $3.91 Saw Flop Saw River Dealt: 6 6![]() SB posts $0.02, BB posts $0.04, 2 folds, MP1 calls $0.04, Hero calls $0.04, CO calls $0.04, 1 fold, SB calls $0.02, BB checks. FLOP: 6 4 4 (Pot: $0.20)SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $0.10, 1 fold, SB raises to $0.20, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.10. Well you can't ask for a better flop than that. My only concern is that I am not going to make any money unless someone has a 4. I'm never checking here with 5 people on the flop. I am looking to see if someone has a 4 or not. So when it comes to me, I fire off a half pot sized bet. A nice small feeler. The SB comes over the top for a check min-raise. This is terrible play but I couldn't be happier. I feel really good about getting most of the SB's stack by the time this hand ends and he's sitting with a full stack. I just flat his raise... screaming that I have a strong hand but not worried that anyone is paying attention. TURN: 6 4 4 T (Pot: $0.60)SB bets $0.16, Hero raises to $0.32, SB raises to $1.12, Hero raises all-in, SB calls $2.82. I don't like his open bet here. Not because it worries me but it is much too small. I paid $0.20 on the last street... he should be charging me more than that here. I minraise him back -- a horrible play but I expect he's going to shove on me. He doesn't shove but he does make a decent raise and I get to put him all-in. He calls very quickly. RIVER: 6 4 4 T 9 (Pot: $8.80)SB shows: 6 4 -- 4's full of 6'sHero shows: 6 6 -- 6's full of 4'sHero wins: $8.36 Aww... now I almost feel bad. That was just really unfortunate for him. I can't even blame him for going broke now. I can still think he played parts of the hand horribly but he did manage to get all his chips in with that hand. I would have done the same thing. I don't feel too bad but I know what it's like to be screwed over on the table like that. It was a fun little hand. It would have been funnier if the river had been a 4 and he had hit quads on me. I would have been a little frustrated but my bankroll can handle that and it would have amused me to have a double screw on the same hand.
