Default Never a dull moment on FTP

I was sitting at a cash game last night while doing some MTTs and I had QQ. I was in mid position with 1 limper before me. ($.25-.50 stakes) I raised to $2.5 and got 1 caller and one reraise to $5 I call. Flop comes QQK So im auto thinking even if he had AA and was value sucking me in pre I have him crushed with my quads. I check to him. The pot is around $12 and I have $52 in my stack and he has $56. He bets $4 I call. Turn comes a 2 and I check. He bets $12 And I reraise to $30 He reraises all in and I insta call. He turns over KK for a full house and the river comes K!!! I was not totally mad because I know he couldnt get away from the second nuts and that he is the winner there 99.99% of the time. But the fact that HEEE started going "PHEW almost got donked out on there" I MEAN WTF!!! In my mind nobody was even close to being a donk. How is it being a donk to trap him with Quad Queens? He pulled a 1 outer which would have made me RICH on UB but it happened on tilt OF COARSE LOL But I got so pissed when he started talking shit to me. he got crazy lucky because if the QQ doesnt hit on the flop and its like 24K I have a good chance to get away because I put him on AK that hand. So in my mind if anyone he wasthe lucky one to get away with that. I Just cant believe how quickly people these days cry donk evewn when they win and there is obviously no donks playing. I have seen bigger donk moves from IVEY on tilt so why not bash him? I mean people need a life I took the beat just fine and moved on and he won but still wouldnt let it go???

Any thoughts?

The use of the term donk is so ridiculously overused online. It's getting pathetic. Some people cry donk when they lose with a hand that was better pre-flop and you called their raise pre-flop. It seems like a vast majority of these people who cry "donk" don't know how to play poker post-flop, which in cash games is where most of your money making/saving opportunities come.
(Btw, I feel ya on that beat. I WAS on ultimate bet and lost with quads... unfortunately they were 7's, and not the required 8's or better. Flop 778, I bet, villian called. Turn hits 8, I check acting weak because I figured he had an 8 here... he moves all in, I call instantly. He turns over K8, I show my quad 7's, river hits an 8. I was so ticked... but I didn't call the guy a donk because if I were him in that situation, I would have more than likely played it the same way since you are rarely up against quads when you have a full house.)

Default Not A Donk Hand

This guy's 'donk' comment was certainly uncalled for. With the preflop raising, he easily could have and should have put you on AA, AK, AQ, KK (albeit unlikley with his KK but it happens), QQ, or may be JJ. And he then figures he's way ahead with KK and that flop (QQK).

I've learned that there are some hands in poker where both players are just going to get all their money into the middle. Typically pre-flop with some combination of: AA v KK v QQ v AK. Happens all the time. And I've learned there are just hands you're gonna lose. Typically after the flop with: set v. set. (Negreanu busted at the 2008 WSOP Main Event w/66 floping a set of 6s vs. his opponent with 99 who also floped a set of 9s. After a re-raise Negreanu confidently says "Well, I'm not going anywhere". He did > the rail). Big hand vs. big hand. You're just gonna lose if you got the smaller of the two.

In your case, you couldn't possibly get away from QQQQ and he couldn't possibly get away from KKKQQ, morphing into KKKK. Big hand vs. big hand. He started ahead, but he's the one that actually got lucky on the river. I think in Doyle Brunson's first book Super System, he said if the only hand that can beat you is quads, you push it all in since quads are so rare. You're just gonna lose against quads, but since they're so rare, you'll win a lot more often with the best hand. The term donk is way over used.

Ya exactly I mean I have played over 100K hands in cash games this year so I think I have seen atleast 50 quads and overlooked probably 20 more. So I Know It happends and I know its rare thats why I dont mind losing I mean there is no shame in getting busted with quads. Just means the poker gods are playing a nasty trick on you. But the fact that the guy had the nerve to call me a donk for reraising all in with QQQQ and that I was quote "Almost a luckbox to suckout on him like that" I mean come on dude He was the one who got lucky because I got all my money in the middle with the best hand and a 96% chance to win the pot. so by far he wqas the OVERWELMING LUCKBOX.

I personally dont care what you have pre flop. I consider the best hand the one that is leading when all the money goes to the middle. I could have 23 off and you limped with a big pair pre and I check and flop 2 pair. If you go all in then I got in with the best and you would be the luckbox 100%. People dont realize that its not what cards you have. Its what you made when you put your money in the middle.
