Default Online Players Stay Out Of Casinos

Most online players do not tip due to the fact there are no dealers online. Poker dealers are there for the same reason you are. They gotta make money too. There is nothing wrong with giving the dealer a buck or two especially after they double you up. Most dealers will appreciate it, but there are some dealers out there who can ruin it for the others. So remember TIP YOUR DEALER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will be appreciated that much more.

I have been going to the casinos regularly for about a month now and it is not fair to say that most online players dont tip. I have a motto when going to the casino, something to remember for everyone,

Tip the servers tip the dealers tip the cage

all one phrase with no pauses, the cage coming to be tipped if you cash out your chips at the end of the night.
It is the service industry, much like going to a restaurant, it is how they make their money. If I had a good guess, I would say that most online players DO tip when going to the casinos, and you are focusing on the few that you know are internet players that do not tip.

umm i have been tipping dealers in the poker room since i was 16, haha when it was illegal to go into the casino. i did it then to seem like i was balling and not to draw attention to myself, but now when i go in ive played enough poker and i understand they have a long drainging job just like the player, so i always hook my dealers up

and they get to know u after a while so they know when its coming

everytime i play cash tables ( live ) i tip the dealer, usually i tip $1 for every $10 won. I see alot of people win 2-3 hands and not tip once or they tip $1 out of 3 wins, which is to bad for the dealers cuz they sit there for hrs just so you can play cards.

I gotta say that if you tip 10% that is way too much..Yes the majority of the dealers wages come from tips and players should tip to show appreciation for a hand won but get real, if a dealer made 5% on the money crossing the table in a game he/she will be able to retire in 5 years...

I am still turning a much larger profit from the game at the casino, so I do not mind. I am using other players chips for the rake and tipping.

Default Good Thinking

It is important to remember that dealers and hosts also remember players and players that tip and dont next tip you dont tip try to get into a special event at that same casino GOOD LUCK or get any special treatment. I agree TIP THE DEALERS, HOST and watch your treatment change. MAybe you will have better luck.

it is a really good idea to tip the dealers because they have to be doing what they do all day. such a hard job.

Default Tokes are good

You should always give some tokes (tips) to your dealer in the casino. Even if you are playing $5 blackjack, throw a dollar bet out there for the dealer once and a while and it will be appreciated.

I do not keep track of percentages when I am playing, but I toke the dealers often. If they know you are making the effort they will watch out for you when you may make a mistake or if you are not paying attention. I have had craps dealers hold the dice because I forgot to place odds somewhere because of prior tokes.

The dealers work long hard hours so we can party and gamble away, tip/toke them.

I'm sorry but you are dillusional to say up tip 10% of every pot won, and still win good money, do you ask for some back when u lose? in a full ring game, with your "10%" you are tipping more than u could possibly win in the long run.
I tip $1 no matter what, up to $5 or $10 for a monster. I used to make tips for a living as well, and believe me, if everyone tipped as I did, they'd be making more than doctors and lawyers. but 10% of every pot you win? think about what your saying and come back down to earth.

lol yep, 10% upto $5, I think I once tipped $7 on a hand i hit quads and doubled up. I dont mind, I see the same dealers every weekend, only 10 tables in the poker room. I also actually do make money, so I havent seen any reason to change my strategy or tipping. If you read my "10%" post and yours, the numbers look similar, $1 upto $5 is generally what I do as well.

I can't see how anyone tipping 5% or more of every pot can make money. The rake is alot in casinos and is already higher than online, add the tipping and you have to beat the game for ALOT to be profitable. Casino games are way softer but when you consider the high rake, low # of hands per hour, not being able to multitask...it's not so tempting.

Tip them b/c they work long hours so you can play poker? By that adage, you need to tip every person you come across as everyone works long hard hours and it in some how benefits you. I tip and yes I've worked in the restaurant business so I understand the importance of tipping. But I find it's become a farce as servers expect their 15% regardless of service provided...and if you knew how much a these guys are making in untaxed income, you might think twice.

Its intresting to see this discussion, as the tipping 'culture' as you could see it, is a lot different in the states as it is in Finland, for example. Now I dont know about casinos in here (we have just two of them because of the monopoly status of one company and it hasn't started out any more casinos since there is no real competition in that field...) but I would most definately tip the dealer. Not by any percentage, but if I have made winnings at all, I'd give them a tip. Not necessarily out of every pot, but I would still make a tip big enough to be remembered by it. (At least in the end..)

Restaurant tipping in finland is pretty rare so I would imagine the tips in casinos wouldnt be too different from that, as the dealers get a wage that is better compared to their american counterparts. Some restaurants also share the tips between the staff so if u tip your waiter, it isn't just your waiter that is getting the money.

This doesnt mean I wouldnt tip in places like this too, but still, in my opinion, a tip should be given as a token of gratitude of the good service u have received, not as an automated extra payout.
