Default Update on my poker life.

As most of you know. I have had a soap opra of a poker career that through it all has seen me at a +9% ROI for a total profit of $14K in the last year. I play stakes that are high enough to provide alittle risk to highen the excitement. But its not high enough with the hours I play to ever call it a living. I have recently pulled out a good portion of the funds on scare that new legislation might want to tighen the online poker system.

Well I started opperating with a bankroll of exactly 5K. I have been playing the daily doubles and some $22 sngs. I was having fun but was doing nothing but breaking even and losing alittle each hour. something like -$4 an hour for 20 hours. I then switched over and played some $.5-1 cash games. Here is where I found the true meaning of Running cold AND running hot. I sat for a 4 hour session. Told myself to not differ from 8-13% of hands played and to be very aggressive with QQ or better sometimes raising 5-6X BB in early position to avoid the J10 callers who always seem to hit. Through the first 2 hours I think I played something like 5% of the hands. No joke I saw maybe 4 pocket pairs for 500 hands seen. It was sick. I was able to make like $40 off AA from a moron who went all in pre with 22. But other than that I lost some key pots with AK flopping top pair top kicker and losing to chasers who think calling pot bets are fine lol and the flopped trips which are hard to avoid sometimes. I finished the first 2 hours at -$213. I was not that mad at the session through then because I had made no huge mistakes and was just under the mindset of "Its poker". Cant always win.

Well then the next 2 hours brought a HUGE change. I reset my stat tracker and continued my session. I was amazed to see I played 18% of the hands without changing my stratagy. I had the same hand requirements. I had AA 10 times and was able to get all my money in the middle 7 times and was able to win 6 of those. (AA to KK loss to turned K) I was calling BBs with AJ and hitting nut flushes. I was getting in cheep with 66-99 and hitting trips. I was playing great and getting great cards and flops to go with it. I ended the second 2 hour session at +$512. I have NEVER seen profit like that in $.5-1. I usually grind out $40-80 bucks for 2-4 hours. I was thinking about continuing to play but I could see my cards slowly leaving me and I felt a change coming soon for me if I kept in. I was able to leave with the best of it and I was very happy.

There is nothing I hate more than playing good all day, desiding to play just alittle longer and then losing your shirt. This time I was avble to take like 4 other guys shirts right off there back.

Any other success stories for the week?

Default success comes and goes, are you ready to win?

I personally have been riding this roller coaster. With large win/lose ratio.
I have also considered if this is really worth the time and effort/heartache.
I have come to the conclusion that I will not win if I don't play.
Play with a positive attitude, and this will go your way.
Never give up on a dream. Your fortitude will pay off, as anything will if you put the time and energy into it.
I will continue with the bad beats and sucking out on the river.
Poker can offer many opportunitys when you play the right hands.
As far as the session, consider it good. You didn't lose your bankroll.
Bankroll management is the key to this on-line thing.

How complicated do you really want to make this?

YOu're being too shortsighted if you judge your play based on the end of day profit/loss. We've all been there where we play incredibly hot and then play just a little too long and variance comes to bite us and takes it all back. One day sessions are simply not big enough samples to judge anything on. You need to look at your overall winrate and be content with your playing stats (which you obv are aware of).

I've been on an incredible run the past week and HEM tells me I'm running way above expectation. It doesn't feel like that but maybe I'm just saying that cuz I dont want to run any cooler. This an experiment I'm trying and it's going well so far, thought of a few leaks and hopefully I've fixed it so I don't experience such big downswings (inevitable...just not so big please ).

Also took 4th in FTP $3 rebuy yesterday for a decent cash.

solid numbers. I love the #3 rebuy. I won one about 2 months ago for $1779. It was nice to turn $3 + $3 add on into $1779. I used that to start playing the $10 90 person KO and did well in those. Then hit a 18 straite game missed cash and desided to cool down. I was 7/20 for my first week and was up $400+ but lost $160 ish in the dry spell and I dont want to slowly lose that profit back so I switched to long tournaments and cash games for now. I have something like 4K hands played at the $.5-1 stakes and a profit total of $+670. Thats with the help of a key Triple up hand where I held AA and 2 players before me raised and reraised all in both holding KK. It was nice cause we all had over $100 at the table so I won a $342 pot. Other than that its been a grind. But where I make a better BB/100 ratio is at the .25-.5 tables where im up $1.6K for 22K hands, I think most of it came from the deep stack tables. but thats the stake where you can just sit and wait for solid hands and push hard. nobody really pays attention there. It seems like I could play 4% of the hands or 20% and still have a raise treated the same. Its nice lol.
