Default Walking away

What is the most profit you ever walked away with in a ring game? How long did it take you to get there?
I walked away with over a hundred dollars after a few hours.

On my last gambling trip I was able to sit down at a table with 100.00 and walk away with 500.00 after only 1/2 an hour. I was getting some good hands, but the best thing about the table that I was at is that most of the players were pretty weak and would run as soon as you would even look at your chips and think about betting.

I turned a $50 'investment' (LOL I use that term loosely) and in 2 hrs I had earned $450 profit.

Cant shake a stick at that! It was a lucky day, I'd say! But that's not typical at all for me.

Default wow

Playingthegame, how did you leave that game after 30 minutes? I'd absolutely sit there for AT LEAST an hour. If people are going to keep sitting an handing a quality player cash, he should take it.

That sounds like a dream table. You only find a table like that every once in a while. You should have taken more advantage of it.

Wow, I feel lame, because I've never come in with nearly that much. However, I start small, and stay small - risk averse I guess. I play more for the fun of it than for any profit.

It's not the most I ever walked away with, but it's my "best" win given the time and how long ago.

35 years ago, I was driving my sportscar to Las Vegas to play poker. (I was single..ahhhh) It was a Friday night and I was probably in a rush and driving too fast. One mile from the offramp to the strip, my front tire blew and tore up my brakes and rim etc etc..

(Remember how long ago this was)... I had it towed to a mechanic and he estimated $350..that's like about $2000 today. I said, "screw it, fix it..." and took a cab to Binions. I only had $400 total to my name. Sat down in a 5/10 seven card stud game, which was THE game at that time. My first five cards were A 5 in the hole, both diamonds, next three cards 3 4 5 diamonds for a straight flush, against two full houses.

Unbelievable action, and I won the pot, FIRST hand dealt to me. I won $375 in that pot. Got up after ONE hand, put $350 in my pocket for the mechanic repairs, and went and bought a huge steak dinner, $15 casino rate room, and slept till morning. Picked up my car after breakfast and drove immediately home....with a net profit of $5.....

Still seems like it just happened... shortest session I ever played, but didn't want to push "lady lucks" gift to me...

Merry Christmas all!!
