But it's so fun to poke people before the game. Kinda puts them on tilt.

But I can't wait for this to start. I need to clip my nails for the BBQ, and hopefully it will pass some of the time until the tournament.:P

Lol, thanks. I'm all ready for the BBQ starting at 3 or 4 or something like that, so I hope both tournaments end by then. I made two really good replys on two different posts, so I hope I get invited back next week. And I posted an idea on the first page of this topic, so tell me what do you think?

That was you??? lol sorry! But I mean I was in the blind....and you didn't raise enough to put me off playing you heads-up......I flopped the higher hand......I put you on either AK or some small pair, and I was right......what do you want me to say?

If it makes you feel any better, I got stuck out of position with KayJay sitting out so Irish practically robbed me blind while stealing KayJay's blinds LOL

...because I already had contributed to the pot with the blind, and it was heads up.....

Anyway, Frob won the whole thing, so congrats to Frob!!! GG

I'm taking off for the day....finally the storms are over and I'm feeling well enough to get out and enjoy the nice weather.

So, how badly did my wife do? I had to work so I let her play the tourney. I see she got 8th out of 9. That's one better than I thought she'd do.

Gee, thanks for telling me that I'm worse than your wife who you think can't play. Really makes me feel good.

I missed it... how did you get knocked out? Tell the story... I want to hear. I think it was dumb to start 9 people on two different tables... I missed half the action for no reason.

I raised it pre flop in the SB when everyone else folds. I raise it 4x BB, and she calls into my pocket 6's. Flop comes out 9 4 2 or something like that. I bet again about 3/4 the pot, she min raises, and I call. Turn comes an ace. I check, she bets a little less than half my stack, and I push all in. She calls to turn over 9 7 off suit.

Man that stinks. But it's better than when I played 3-handed against 1 active person and 1 guy sitting out... and I came in 3rd.

There's always next week. Better luck that time.

It didn't go exactly like that...but whatever makes you feel better...the check on the turn is what screwed you, gamer...sorry but it's true...on the flop I had put you on possibly AK or a small/mid pair...when you checked the turn, that pretty much sold the small pair theory, and shot the possibility of any ace out the window...at which point I took advantage of the situation. I'd have easily folded if you'd pushed on the Ace. But you didn't...

Just let it go... it's one hand... and it's been over for hours...

Don't worry, gamer, it was just a matter of timing thatmy wife got knocked out after you. She called a raise from the BB preflop with AJ and then when the jack hits for top pair she calls a bet. Then a King came and she called another bet. Anyway, she ended up calling a big bet on the river and losing to KT leaving her with a very tiny stack. She's doesn't play much poker, but she said she had fun and that's what matters.

This was our conversation:
"Honey, why didn't you raise or push when the Jack came and he bet out?"
"Well, I though he might have a big pocket pair."
"Ok, then why did you call if you thought you were beat?"
"Well, um, why don't you go *BLEEP* yourself and play your own *BLEEP* -ing tournament next time?"

That was me. I raised 3xBB from the button in an attempt to just pick up the pot. She called from the BB and I expected to be behind. Had she come over the top instead of calling, I probably would have folded.

The flop came out: 3-J-8 [2 diamonds].

This is a fairly dry flop, by my estimation, for the BB calling range. She checks to me, which further convinces me that there's a good chance she missed, and I bet the pot to apply pressure and hopefully get a fold. She smooth calls again and I worry about a pair... possibly 8s. Had she reraised here... I would have to let it go. My biggest worry... A-8d.

The turn was the Kd.

She checks again, I am still worried about her hitting the flush but anything is possible. So I fire another pot-sized bet and hope to take it down. She calls again. A shove here and I would have had to lay this down. But with the smooth call, I knew I was in trouble. I was already going to bet any card but an Ace or a diamond on the end. And that was going to be a big bet... too big to fold to a raise. Either I am in good shape or she's played my aggressiveness perfectly with a monster. Some people would slow down... but I am not always smart.

River is a 7.

She checks... I bet the pot again... she calls. And that was most of her stack. I think it left her with $150 in chips.
