Thanks for the invite rakeback! I don't know if I can make it though for two reasons. One, I don't know what I will be doing October 4th, and second, you said Sunday, October 4th, but Sunday is October 5th, and October 4th is on a Saturday...

Thanks for the invite. I see the PM with the password, and that it's a HORSE tourney. Umm, if someone would be so kind as to send me instructions on how the play the ORSE part.

Thanks rakeback.com

YES!!! FINALLY!!!! HORSE TOURNEY!!!!

GainerRakeback: HORSE is the acronym for the 5 limit games. They are Holdem, Omaha H/L, Razz, Stud, and Stud Eight or better (or H/L). Omaha H/L is like Holdem, but you get 4 cards instead of two. But, you MUST use TWO of the four cards IN YOUR HAND, and ONLY THREE from the board, NO MORE, NO LESS. And the H/L part means you can win half the pot if you have a 5 card hand that has no pairs that is 8 or lower (with Ace being considered as the number 1). So a low hand would be something like 8 6 4 2 A, or even 5 4 3 2 A (this is called the nut low, or the wheel). You can use two different sets of cards for the Hi and Low hands. Ex. Say in your hand you have AAK2 double suited (one of the strongest hands in Omaha H/L) and the board is A345A. So you can use the AA in your hand for the Hi hand, and the A2 combination for the low, which would be A2345.

Razz is a stud game, meaning you get two face down cards, and one card face up before any betting. In razz, the person with the highest face up card is the person who must make the first bet. Then, you get 3 more cards face up, one at a time, and then one face down. Each card consists of a new betting round. In razz, it's the person with the LOWEST hand wins, kind of like the Low part in Omaha H/L, but there is no limit to how 'low' your hand has to be. For example, say you have (in total) A 2 9 10 J K J, and in total, your opponent has A 2 3 4 K K K. You would win the pot because you hand would read as a J low, and he would have a K low. The whole hand would read as J 10 9 2 A low, and he would have a K 4 3 2 A low.

Stud is like Razz, but instead of the lowest hand winning, it's the highest hand winning. The better your hand, the better chance of you winning the whole pot. No low hands are possible to win the pot.

In Stud Eight or Better, it's like a mix of Omaha H/L, Razz, and Stud, but not really. It's like Omaha H/L because there is two pots, and for the low pot, you have to have a hand that is 8 or lower, no pairs. It's like razz because the low hand is dealt like razz. And it's like Stud because the Hi part of the pot is won with the highest hand.

* Note that for the low hands, flushes don't coun't, as does straights. You can win in razz with Ac 2c 3c 4c 5c if you needed to, same goes for Omaha H/L, and Stud H/L.

Sweet! NL HORSE! Good luck to everyone, as you will all need it. Lol, jk.

But please note that I am going to really go after this one because for one, I haven't cashed in these in a while, and two, I really need the money (in the play4pizza phase again.).

Lol, not even when I truly need the money can I win... 5th place. Couldn't do anything about it really, tried to get my money in with the best hand, and that was it.

Well, if needing it most was all it took, that would be nice. I'm out right after you. Couldn't catch a hand.

Exactly, but poker is luck, so I can't get mad that I lost, even though I did my best. I always do my best, and I'm sure everyone else does in every tournament, but like you said, if needing it most was all it took, it would be nice. Hopefully I can cash in some freeroll and turn it into a miracle for something till next week. Wish me luck guys and gals, as I will be doing the same for you.

Congratulations GrumpMoFo for taking first. You made a very ballsy raise with 2 pair in Razz (for almost all your stack) and managed to outrun gorden. I'm a fan of aggressive moves even if you're behind... so I liked that. At that point, it was elemental.

Good game gorden. You played very well too. You kept the pressure on and just got unlucky.

Please don't say that River... I hate it when people don't know what there doing and win, particularly in HORSE.
