I saw you guys changed the payouts to 70/30, that's pretty sweet I'm glad they got changed. Unfortunately I'm going to be late to the tourney if I even play it at all. thanks for the chance though!

Does this start at 3pm EDT or is it just me? I hope so because I need to run to the store. The site times don't seem to take daylight savings time into account.

Yes Nordica is on Central time (I think) because they are one hour behind Eastern time zone.

lol, sorry about that beat. I got really lucky in that hand. I actually got lucky fairly often in this game.

What was funny is that my sister came over right before we started and she was trying to get me to play all the garbage hands I was being dealt. After that happened she was like, "SEE!!! 8-3... you won with 8-3... you've folded a ton of hands better than that!!!"

Man, it was fun playing with everyone from the site but her commentary was killing me. She was trying to get me to lose. She was telling me to fold hands with high cards because if I got a pair everyone else would also have a pair because they were playing high cards too. And she'd say I needed to be raising the small unconnected cards because no one would expect it. I was laughing so hard at points that I was having trouble focusing on the game.

I was so excited to win first. I think this is a much more exciting way of doing the PTOTW than just voting. Sure, we only got a 70% turn-out but that isn't bad. I mean, the poll didn't have 7 threads (I don't think) so it gave more people a chance than usual. It was also great to finally play the people I talk with on here.

Oh, and congrats to Vito_Nuccio who took 2nd in this tournament. He nearly had me at the end. He doubled through me the first hand of heads up... and then (after I got some chips) he ended up all in and I flopped a flush and he rivered a full-house. With the way things were going, I thought it was going to be the end of me.

Yeah it was very entertaining to say the very least I enjoyed it. And just for the record, I'm not really mad at you....it's just a figure of speech

As for being distracted, I can relate...my partner kept getting after me to hurry up and sort out my portion of the laundry so she could go wash LOL I was like "Hon, chill...it's a single table game...it won't be that long" LOL

I knew you weren't mad. It was inevitable at that point. I was going to bet that flop and you were going to shove... I had to call. Win or lose... it was just the way it was going to be. I just got lucky and caught good on the river. That's poker.

lol... the game wasn't long at all. And my sister was encouraging me to play the way she was talking because she wanted me to lose so I could run to the store and help her pick up some book-cases. I kept trying to explain that she needed to relax because it would be over really quick... and it was. We were done in just under an hour.

I wish I could play in the one tomorrow but I will try and rail it. Good luck to everyone who gets to play in it.

Yeah Mikey, at one point you had more than half the chips in play... and then, suddenly it seemed, you were gone. Poker can be a crazy game at times. I think it was a really good tournament, for the most part. I probably was happier with it than some because I was run over by the deck exactly when I needed it.
