Really silly question

I know this will sound daft, but how does your member status change from junior to anything else? Is it just based on length of time since registering with site?

I'm pretty sure it's based on number of posts. I don't know how many denote each change in level but if you keep posting, it will go up.

Ok, a quick look and I think I have it sorted out.

-Posts-
0-29: Junior Member
30-99: Member
100-500ish: Senior Member
500ish+: Veteran Member

So, you will become a "Member" when you make 30 posts. But I wouldn't stress about it. So far as I know, no one pays any attention to that anyway. I certainly don't notice it. I usually base my opinion of someone on previous posts of theirs I have read and the current one. I wouldn't base it on the fact that they're a Junior Member and not a Senior Member...

I am not real sure what the exact cutoff for Veteran is... but it's up there. Only the really compulsive members, like myself, who post on here too much for their own good make it that high. lol

Well, I think only "Members" and higher should receive pwds for rakeback freerolls. I know I would not get one then, but I think it makes us "Junior Members" be more productive on the forum.

p.s. Frob, I love your signature

I think the main concern about making freeroll admission based on post count is that it will increase the amount of "noise" and "low content" posts. And that increases moderator load and can be really frustrating when you're running a nice forum.

Actually, they removed a "point" system before for similar reasons (people posting short meaningless posts because they needed some points). And then they implemented the PTOTW (poker Thread Of The Week) to encourage high content posts.

I think that is what best meets what you're suggesting.

Write Poker Thread of the Week and win a private tournament entrance!

Edit: PS... thanks, I love my signature too... it's way too true most of the time.
