Default 5 Card Draw or Texas Hold'em

Where has 5 Card Draw gone? :'( I remember when it was in all of the movies and then a boom came for Texas Hold'em cuz of the WSOP, WPT and all that other stuff. 5 Card Draw in my opinion has the most entertaining and exciting game play. I mean its a game where you have absolutely no idea what your opponent has.... he could have ace high and stand and make you think otherwise. Bluffing.... There is so much of that in this game which actually makes it a heck of alot better than texas hold'em... What is the point of just going all-in? Just because you got A,A, K,K or A,K, A,Q maybe. doesn't mean your gonna win. It really doesn't.... Its like when someone has that, there mind draws a blank and either goes all-in or raises like 6X the pot and i'm not saying that either is a bad move because if you don't want the donks/fishes calling with something that could possibly hurt you later on. It still comes down to. If you go all in pre-flop with anything, you still have a big chance of losing especially playing online. In all honesty, I must say that playing Real life poker, 3 people don't get dealt A,A K,K, Q,Q all in the same hand. That doesn't happen... I've never seen it happen. but it seems to happen alot online. Along with other things which I won't even bother mentioning..... I just think the whole Texas Hold'em thing is alright because it is fun but not as realistic as playing 5 card draw online. Its alot more fun and you have to think alot more instead of trying to use the same 5 cards on the table as everybody else right? make sense? Alright enough of my blabbering but I think we should throw some 5 card draw tourneys. It'd be fun. Well, In my opinion..... O.o

I love 5 card draw and it's one of the games I grew up playing. But I disagree with this bit. Especially if playing PL or NL (I grew up with NL draw). The combination of the betting action before the draw and how many cards they drew will give me a good idea of where they are at.

A big strong bet or reraise and drawing 2... unless we're playing with a bug or a joker... it's almost always trips.
A big strong bet or reraise and drawing 1... two pair and how big they are can usually be easy to tell based on the player.
A big strong bet or reraise and drawing 3... drunk... very very drunk

A call or small bet and drawing 1... a draw of some sort.
A call and drawing 2... drunk... very very drunk
A call and drawing 3... big pair likely AA.

And so on. It's not hard to get an idea. And when you have a really strong history with a player, you can get even more specific than this.

Edit: Some people will hold an extra card to add some deception to what they're drawing at. But often they do this too frequently and you can adjust your range for that player with that in mind.

I play this quite a bit on PokerStars, well not as much recently but I do enjoy it.

This can be effective as long as it's not overdone. If you play enough, you get an idea of how others play and can get a read on who does this too much and who doesn't.

"A call and drawing 2... drunk... very very drunk" --- I have seen people just flat call with trips and just call or even raise post draw and win some nice pots. It all depends on they type of players at the table though.

The most terrible part about 5 card is when someone only has a pair and draws a boat or quads from this. I can think of one example playing 2/4 PL where I had trip Aces preflop and the villian called the raise with just a pair of Kings and sucked out quads.
