Default Bad Beat?

So whats the worst beat you have had so far?

I flopped a straight and they flopped one pair. I pushed all in and they just called. Cought two running cash and beat me with a straight. Really stucked cause I lost about 10 bucks which was a lot for me.

I think my worst bad beat was when I had a fh K/A and got beat by a fh A/K. That one really sucked the big one. However, just last night I had another fh of A/10 and was beat by quad 10s. Now that one hurt bad too but I could handle that one a little easier because it wasn't a loss by a nose.

Ouch, losing to a stronger fh than yours has got to hurt.
How many decks was that game played with that there were 5 Ks and 5 As in hands? Surely, not one.

I too have lost with fh (K/Q ) to a quad 8s.

I guess I have had just about every bad beat that one could have over the years of playing but the one that sticks in my mind right now happened the other day. I was playing Omaha and I had A/J fh and went all in and was called and the other guy was sitting with quad J's. Man that hurt.

There was only one deck and as luck would have it the board hit with KKxAA. I had gone allin when I caught my set on the flop and the other person called my allin because he had the chips to do it with. He ended up with runner runner A and had an A in his hand. That's why it hurt so much to lose. He called my bet with virtually nothing.

I cant remember the worst bad beat I've received, but I can remember the worst one I've dished out..
Live tourney, holding QQ, flop comes 4h 9h Qh, I place a good sized bet, everone folds except one guy who goes all in, and has made some questionable plays in the past.. so I call, he has the flush, and I catch the 4th Queen on the river..

That was the first time I had played with this group, and I was never invited back to play there again

That was not that much of a beat for your opponent. You had 7 outs to beat him on flop with a full house or quads, and three more on turn.

His all-in could also mean that he has a strong hand that is weaker than your top set, and he is trying to take the odds out of you drawing for a possible flush. Your call was a good play.

I can't say what my favorite bad beat is (are there any? ), but one that I still recall after two years is being rivered when I had a straight flush.

Default fun thing

The fun thing with bad beats is to produce them. Surely it's not profitable to do so, but hey, very fun!

The other day I got a draw to the nut flush on the turn. I was heads up at the time and the other guy bet double the pot.

Double the pot!! ???

He most have been beat by flushes on the river a lot I thought, so I got the feelig that he would call pretty often to high bets on the river. I called...
Luck was in the air and I did get my flush. Now I bet double the pot as well. DOUBLE THE POT, which was fairly big now !!!

A very very long time thinking from the other guy and than

... call!

That was fun !!! :-)

Default even better

Can't keep myself from sharing this one.

I'm in the big blind with 53o. UTG raises one blind, the button calls, small blind folds and I call.
(Yes I have crap).

The FLOP:
QJ6 (rainbow)

I check my crap and so do the others.

TURN:
2 (still rainbow)

UTG raises double the pot, and the button folds.

Ok, I have a clear fold, only 4 outs to a nut straight, but first... what read do I have on the guy?
UTG has been fishing a lot and winning money from all over. I have also been winning a bit so we have fairly deep stacks. I think a lot, but since he is a fisherman and I really would like to get to him in his own type of game I can't resist.

....I call.

I don't write about times where I don't get lucky so yes... the 4 came giving me the absolute nuts. How do I play it now.. out of position?
I figured that he needs to have at leat two pair or a set, to call a big bet. I also doubt that he would expect the nut straight. (otherwise I would not have called, (I think) :-)
So it's safe to check!

...I check

UTG bets 1/3 of the pot. I was actually hoping for more making an all-in from me look like perhaps anger due to his constant betting, but ok. I have to execute something now.
I bet 2/3 of my stack pretty sure he will call, and hoping he will put in the rest.

He calls (only).

I won, but I don't know what he had (I guess I could look in the history)

After this, UTG did NOT go on tilt. Hats off! I tried him with some raises for polling his tilt mode,
but he was just playing maybe a bit more tightly.
...BUT..., BOY did I get action from the others at the table. I "slowly" doubled my stack again in about 30 minutes.

Talking about implied "tilt" odds!!!

Well it was fun, but was it worth it?
any comments?
I'm new at writing here, so please give me some feedback anyone.

i'm pretty sure i've taken one of the worst beats that is possible. i had aa, and got all in after a flop of a84 rainbow. he flipped over 99 and hit runner runner 9 9 on the turn and the river. i was >99.9% to win that hand after the flop.

actually, if you thought he was bluffing (the only reason to be calling the turn) you should have raised his turn and tried to take the pot away from him. trying to take the pot away was the only reasonable play you had, chasing that 4 was a bad play, based on your read or based on no read.

I usually get beat all the time, since I suck at poker. But I have never really had a bad beat it is usually start to finish and I only lose a buck or two.
