Default Bankroll poll

There's always opinionated discussions on what the ideal bankroll should be.

What do you consider the proper bankroll to play in a game, based on the "biggest bet" in any particular game?

I stick to the saying that short bankrolls need luck., and sometimes is better setup discretionary bankrolls based more on how much players can afford that in bet terms.

Maybe I'm wrong, though.

It's a common knowledge among poker players that 300 big bets in a limit game is a minimum bankroll to play the particular game (in texas hold'em, other games need bigger or smaller bankrolls) so I answered 500 to the question.

If you have too small bankroll then you always have to possibility of going broke even though playing well.

You can also have "too big" bankroll, for example playing $3/$6 limit with $10k bankroll, which restricts the growth of your bankroll percentagewise and you should thereby either withdraw some money and invest it elsewhere or try to climb up in the stakes.

I play fixed limit hold'em, and over 100 BB downswings in one session just happen from time to time. The 500 big bets is ok.

I feel it's a comfort thing you have enough to swing up and down
