Chip Tricks...

How many different chip tricks can you do? I've noticed a lot of live players get nervous when they see someone at the table doing various chip tricks...do you think that some players will assume you are a strong player just because of these tricks?

I can shuffle with both hands and click the chips around a few different ways. It helps me stay calm and focused at the table if I am shuffling a stack. We even keep a couple of stacks on the computer desk at home to fiddle with while playing online.

Someone once said, "The person who invented poker was smart, the person who invented the poker chip is a genius." I have to agree.

Does this give the appearance of me being a strong player, I doubt it as many fish can shuffle chips. I am a male with long thick curly hair and get many strange looks in this world. I think my appearance causes others to underestimate me as a reckless donk when I really am a tight aggressive player and student of the game.

Me personally, I know how to shuffle, flip them over each other, flip them over the top of my hand thru my fingers, and a few others that I don't even know how to begin to explain in text LOL

And I totally agree that it helps to boost concentration while playing, at least live. I shuffle while playing online also, but it's kinda hard to keep it going when every other second you're having to CLICK lol.

Another thing I've found it helps with too is keeping you from making tells...if you are focused on, let's just say shuffling, you will find that your hands won't shake so much while holding a big hand.
