Default THE COMPETITION - Who's The Better Poker Player

so my friend, who recently won the steps on pstars for the 12.5k WSOP package. since then, hes been acting very cocky, as if hes invincible in poker, especially since the person he beat HU to win the seat was none other than matt 'ch0ppy' kay. the sad part is that i dont think hes a very good player, rather i think that i am a better player than him. so jokingly ive said i would play him HU for his seat, for 1k, for 100, for any amount.
finally we decided to settle whos better and agreed to the following competition: we will play 100 6.50 9 man turbos, 50 on FTP and 50 on stars. we will play the same 4 at the same time, and whoever has the most total profit at the end wins an undisclosed amount.
here are the results so far, where we started with 4 on FTP:
tourney 1 - me -6.5, him -6.5,
tourney 2 - me -6.5, him -6.5,
tourney 3 - me -6.5, him -6.5,
tourney 4 - me -6.5, him -6.5.
we then decided to do another 4 cuz we couldnt believed that we airballed every one:
tourney 5 - me +20.5, him -6.5,
tourney 6 - me +9.7, him -6.5,
tourney 7 - me -6.5, him +4.3,
tourney 8 - me +20.5, him -6.5.
here are the total results after 8 tourneys.
me - +7.4, him - -40.2.
lemme know if you guys think this is a good way to see whos the better player cuz i wanted to play him HU 100 times and he said HU means shit. btw we chose 6.50s cuz we figured thats around what avg players play.

Is this a good way to determine who is the better player? Depends on what sort of player you're talking about. If you're trying to determine who is the better SnG player, sure. Though I don't believe you need to be playing in the same tournaments (if that is what you said you were doing)... only that you need to play the same number of them.

Will this determine who is the better deep-stack cash game player? Nah. Will it determine who is the better MTT player? Nope. But that doesn't matter. If you both agreed that this is the way you want to determine who is the better player... that is all that matters between you two.

Edit: I remember a long time ago when my sister and I challenged each other to who was the better 7 card stud player. We played cash, heads-up, for pennies. The amounts we were betting weren't important compared to winning or losing. We were playing spread limit, with a $0.03 ante and a $0.05 bring-in, with limits of $0.10-$1.10 at any point. And an unlimited amount of raises per round (not capped at 3 or 4). The only reason I bring this up is that after over 9 hours of solid play... she was ahead by $0.02. Considering that she was ahead, after 9 hours of play, by less than the amount of the ante... we called it a draw and said we would repeat the match another time. But neither of us are very interested in it... mostly because it was grueling to play that long and have to call the whole thing off at the end.

thanks for your input frob. he doesnt play cash games online, and actually runs super well in the 55+5 45 persons on stars. had we done it my way, we woulda done every cash, sng and mtt stake, and every format. but we chose this as a little short term thing and its easy to track.

good questions wex, lemme address them 1 by 1.
neither of us are 6.50 9 man players. i used to play HU sngs for $5, then $10, then $20. then i did $20 9 man sngs. and then i did $12 6 man sngs. but now i just mostly multi table .25 .50. as for my friend, he likes $60 45 persons but also plays 60 9 mans and 16 9 mans.
i was willing to play a variety of stakes and game types but unfortunately my friend is a bum and just wanted 9 mans. if he beats the 60 45s pretty consistently tho, i dont see why he wouldnt be able to beat these.
finally the reason were playing on FTP and stars is cuz i just got a FTP account and rakeback and would like to take advantage of it by playing, plus i would like to reach my bonus quicker. but my friend plays on stars so he wants that.

$60 45mans are WAY different than $6.5 9mans lol.

Also, i very rarely played the $16/$60 9mans . I only started to play them recently because of the new SNG leaderboard.
