Just that you're convinced it all revolves around luck, so until you get out of that mindset, nothing's going to make you feel any better, that's all.

No, it's not that. What I'm saying is that I'm not having the best luck in the world right now, and it's gonna change a little bit like it usually does. But I'm not talking about the cards that has the problem.

I know maybe what I said didn't come out right...Let me try to rephrase...

What I meant was, that you are sure nothing you are doing is wrong as far as the way you are playing, and that lack of luck is to blame for your recent swing. I used to get the same way, but then I realized that luck had nothing to do with it. It was simply (as my signature states) "the ineptitude of my opponents" which was causing the bad beats, suckouts, etc...not luck. I mean sure, you could easily say it was unlucky to run into these kinds of ill-informed players, but likewise you could turn it into a really lucky situation by altering your play to counteract theirs. (I hope this is making sense) So, by way of analyzing my play against the opponents and compensating my play to counteract theirs, the swing turned for the better almost immediately. I know you can adapt because you are a HORSE player.

I dunno if this helps or not...but it just seems like you're finding yourself in the same spot I was once in, and blaming luck or a lack of it is not a solution, nor is it going to change the outcome.

Well, usually, when playing for real money, I tend to play ABC poker, so thats why I think luck has a big factor in my plays. But other than that, I don't know about my play vs. luck.

Hmm... well then maybe tracking your hands would be the way to go after all then... I mean if you don't know about your play vs. luck, then perhaps by tracking and then going back an analyzing piece by piece, you can figure out if it is one or the other, or if one is contributing to the losses moreso than the other.

I just think positive in that, I believe there is always something we can do to change the outcome of a certain situation...both in life and in poker. Don't let the stars dictate your path...make your own.

Nice Hand It can happen in any game, hun...but getting something like that in the first 5 cards is rare in either case. Bravo

Lol, thanks. I'm still in the tourney, but it's only play chips. I picked off two HUGE bluffs to get a load of chips off this guy who said: 'He is a better player than everyone at the table.'

Hmm well that's Stud for ya Not much can be said for what happened there...I don't tend to play a whole lot of tournament stud, but typically I don't like little pairs much in these spots. Especially when two of the cards of his that you can see are huge. I dunno, sometimes my gut leads me more than my head, but then again if I listened to my gut more, I'd probably be in great shape LOL

If you believe your gonna run bad, not only are you going to run bad, but you will not remeber anything good that happens.

We remeber our greatest losses but not our greatest winners when we are running bad <---forgot who said this lol

Tonight, I've won a $110 HU Turbo, a $220 HU turbo, Several smaller events. Maybe you need to take a break from the game

I took out alot of personal anger on my BR lately (the last 6 months) and it's cost me. I kept on thinking about all the negative things and it got me off focus on my game, I started making alot more mistakes than normal and I lost sight of the fact that I can't win every game, and it troubled me because sometimes, poker is my release, it is my way of escaping a boring ass 9 to 5. I resolved my personal issues, made changes in my life, got my focus back on track but I really had to step away from the game for a few days. Try it, it will bring new focus back to your game

Congrats on your wins Wyte that's great to hear!

Gamer, if it makes you feel any better hun, I just lost an PLO SNG a few minutes ago...

I had AA......person I ran into had AA also, but one was a spade, with a 5 of spades to help it along...

Blank flop hits with 2 spades, player checked...I bet big...she came over the top...I thought for a second, and she hadn't looked like she knew what she was doing the whole game, so I put her on a flush draw and sure enough I was right .... sadly she hit the final spade on the river...

It's just part of the game, and online when you're surrounded by people who don't know so much, it can make for a long night....but, on the same token, it can also be profitable....it's just part of the game....

Oh and first time (IN MY LIFE) to play softball tonight

I was horrible in Right Field, but batting, I found out I am a natural LOL I went 6 for 6 batting (4 singles and 2 doubles). The best at-bat was last, I sent two screamers down the first base line the previous 2 at-bats. Soo all 3 outfields were in right field lol. Soo I asked them "ya'll gonna leave left field open for me?"....The center fielder replied "if you can hit it into left field, you deserve that hit alot!"....first pitch, rocket into left field and a double

Hopefully that canceled out the 100,000 errors I made in Right Field LOL

LOL that's cool...I just *(for shits and giggles)* played in a $2 bounty sng...and got 2nd LOL Amazing since I hate bounties LOL But at this time of the morning it's not as crazy as it is in the daytime.

As for softball, I'm the total opposite of you LOL

I grew up in a neighborhood full of boys, so my dad taught me baseball (among other things) So at bat, I'm used to swinging hard as soon as the ball comes out of the pitcher's hand.....but in softball, you have to stand there and wait for it to get to you, and it's the size of a melon, so I can't hit it to save my life LMAO but gimme a baseball and I can knock it out of the park Outfield in softball I was the only one on our co-ed team that could throw from center field to home plate with only one bounce, and if I got a lot of fire behind it, not even a bounce LOL Pretty sad when I could out-throw the guys on the team LMAO I sure miss those days.....I used to be very athletic until my health took a turn

Yeah, this is a classic misplay in stud.

3rd street: Fold to the completion, especially if it's a small card completing it... since that's usually a big pair in the hole, trips, or two large face cards (being overplayed but still not far behind). 5-5-3 is NOT a hand you should defend with. Note: In this case, it was a misplayed pair of 4s... probably Q-4-4... but you still were in bad shape.

4th: He gets a King, you get an 8. Then he goes ahead and bets... telling you he's still happy with the hand. You raise... which was probably the second best thing you could do... the best would be to just fold here and save the chips. Calling is easily the worst... but you knew that. It's important to mention here that even if we KNEW he had Q-4-4-K... we would still want to fold 5-5-3-8. Rule #1 of playing pairs in stud: "Respect your opponent's overcards."

5th: You bet, he calls... likely worried about trips but this hand is basically already a sure thing... it's getting all-in. I think he calls here worried that you might have Aces up... but it doesn't really matter... unless you get another Ace on the next street... he has to see this to the end at this point.

6th and 7th... standard. He improves from Qs up to Ks up... you improve to 8s up.

Note: FTP shuffles the down cards of stud hands... so I have to assume it was Q4-4 to start... it may have been 94-4 but I doubt that... it was play money and some people could play that badly... it's certainly possible.

Seriously though... RESPECT overcards in stud hi. Overcards quickly become larger pairs (and much more often than you would expect)... and you're in major trouble.
