| If you ask me anyone is in the same boat pro or not once your chips get down in a tourney. The blinds start getting to be too much and you have to make a stand somewhere. If you beat a pro that is short stacked then its kinda normal. But if you outplay a pro that didn't need to push but came along for the ride, now theres a reason to congradulate yourself. Just beating anyone in the situation and not taking a bad beat deep in the tourney is reason to celebrate. Beating a pro though is just icing on the cake.

| Beating a "pro" is a celebration. IF, as Krahsami mentioned, you outplayed them, they weren't short stacked. Otherwise, it is just another KO. Outplaying them is a celebration because, as a poker society, we have placed these people on a level higher than average and ordinary players. But then again, it is kinda like baseball. Once your a new pitcher in the league, no one has you figured out, and you look impressive, but once the batters(pros) figure you out, back to the minor leagues unless you can learn to adept like they do to changing styles, betting patterns and tells (and tell whether they are false or real!).

| Well looks like Krahsami and Wyte already answered this one for me. I was pretty much going to say that it can be both momentus and simply just another player...just depends on how you beat them. Personally I try to always think of a pro as "just another player" - however...I tend to give them a stiffer look than I do the other players when at a table with them, only because they know how to read, play their hands and position, and know their odds, whereas many online players don't even know how to think about those things, or if they do, often tend to use it incorrectly. I've only ever knocked out one pro and that was ages ago...was Karina Jett, and she only had about half my stack, and almost seemed like she was sitting out up until the hand where she and I were heads up, so I didn't consider it a huge thing when I took her out. I just wish back then they had the whole free Tshirt deal like they have now. It was before they had the KO bonus, so I didn't get squat for it LOL ![]()

| I have to agree with the other posters when it comes to MTT's. However, I do think it is more impressive to knock out a pro in heads-up play. I've been fortunate enough to do this to at least 5 different pros on FTP, some better known than others. However, it did seem to make me feel better than winning against a non-pro from some reason. |
