Default What's the magic?

What keeps you coming back to poker?

The poll was going to be multiple choice, but I want you to really think about what's the main thing that keeps you coming back.

Hmm, tough one... Out of those options, if only one can be chosen, I'd say the money involved. I like money. Money is good. And I've been fortunate enough to make decent cash from poker, so it's gotta be that, because without the money involved, I wouldn't play much. Play money tables just don't attract me. Second choice would've been the challenge/fun of the game.

I said the fun of the game because I had to choose only one, but I also like the money aspect. The challenge of the game is also a good one because I do enjoy that as well-there continues to be new people and different playing styles, so I have to continue to learn and get better as well. And I also enjoy playing live with friends also, usually once a week when I'm down at school.

For me, it's the game itself... and the strategy and the way you need to constantly be waging war against the rest of the table. So I put the challenge. I can play for money little or large amounts... I've played for less than $5 in pennies and had a great time. I can just play for chips or something trivial. I just love to play and beating the other players is more important than what is at stake. Not that I am ahead after every session... but over time, I want to be ahead enough to know that I am consistently beating the people I play with.

rakeback of course!!!!

Definitely playing for money too. I'm not a high roller by any means but play money tables don't appeal to me and I can't justify spending several hours playing a freeroll just to win a dollar or two or maybe 50 bucks or so if I get really lucky. I only have a limited amount of time that I can play every week and I try to make the most of it.

I had to go with fun of the game. I spent as much time playing with play chips as I do playing for cash. Now that I have a BR I very rarely do the play money tables, but still do occasionally.
