Although I admit there is a more laid back attitude among most players, it's misleading to suggest that all games with wild cards or in a dealer's choice rotation aren't serious. They do require a change in strategy and an understanding of how hand values change when a certain number of wild cards are introduced, but the serious mathematically minded player... who is playing appropriately tight for the game can easily profit from these sorts of games. This is especially true because few players can fold (have the discipline to fold) in games like "Follow the Queen" because they always believe the next round could magically make their hand perfect. This means the few pots you play will be huge... lots of variance but not so much that you won't easily make several times your investment back in short order. Any game where I can make $200 in a session playing for "change" is serious enough for me... even with 8 wilds out.

Also, some games in dealer's choice are your normal games and some have no wilds and require more strategy than others. For example, we often toss in some 'Omaha Hi' and 'Jacks or Better - Trips to win' which are normal games (the second one being 5 card draw, jacks or better to open and trips or better to win)... for the most part. But the real profit comes from the 'crazy' games.

I agree frob that not many people know how to change up there game in different situations. And like you said, many of the dealers choice and wild card games can have huge pots. This is why I like HORSE the best. It's a varience game in which people have to constantly change gears about 7 times more than they would say in a NL Holdem.

Yep one of these days we need to play a HORSE game together. I haven't seen many on Nordica, so I guess I'll have to do the play chip games on Full Tilt. But one of these days, it would be fun.

Play chips on FTP (unless it's for big stakes) is all a bunch of joke players. I would only play HORSE for real money, but at the low stakes, even that can be tricky. But yes, we should put together a HORSE game one of these days.

Mikey who?
Yes. Sound is made from soud waves. The faster they are, the louder it is. Put a recorder in the woods, make the tree fall, and listen to the recording.
He is his Uncle or Dad.

Ok, the table didn't work. Here is how I see it:

Can either be like that, or where the Son is below the Father (2)

Ok....we can argue the sound thing all day, cuz having a recorder would still give you a way to hear the tree fall.

I'm sure you've heard of Life cereal, well Mikey was this boy and his brothers hated Life cereal, the brothers would say " give it to Mikey, he eats everything" he would start to eat the bowl of cereal and they would then say "hey Mikey, he likes it he likes it."

as for the riddle well the answer- "This man" is my son

Razz is the devil's poker game... and oh so addicting when you get into it.... but I shall leave it to gamer to really answer your questions, it is his thread after all. I just had to add that in.

Razz:

Razz is played just like stud. You get two cards down, once card up. A round of betting, then a second face up card. Another round of betting, then a third card face up. Another round of betting, then a fourth card face up. Another round of betting, then the last and final card face up. Then, the last and final round of betting occurs.

Razz is won by having the lowest hand possible. The best possible hand in razz is A 2 3 4 5. Ace is considered 1. Having A 2 3 4 5 is also called a 5 low. You can only use 5/7 of your total cards to make the best low hand. If you have 2 3 6 7 10, that would be a 10 low. If you had A 2 3 9 10, that also is a 10 low. If it was just those two hands, then it would come down to the next card in your hand. So in this case, the first hand is a 10-7 low, and the second hand is a 10-9 low. So, the 10-7 low would win over the 10-9 low.

If you don't know how to play Stud, post so here and i will explain it further.

Omaha/Omaha8oB:

Lots of Holdem players are starting to get into Omaha and Omaha H/L (a.k.a. O8oB for Omaha Eight or Better) because you get 4 cards instead of 2. But a lot of them don't know that this makes your hand selection go up in rank. The better hands of Omaha Hi are AAKK double suited (Ex. of double suited: AsKsAcKc), AAJ10 double suited, High connecting cards double suited (such as AK109 double suited, AQJ9 double suited.

For Omaha Hi/Lo, good starting hands are AA23 double suited (preferably double suited aces), AK23 double suited, AAK2 double suited.

A lot of people don't know that even though you get more cards, it makes your hand less likely that you will have the best hand. In Omaha games, you will have 6 different combinations of cards (So for AKQJ, your combinations are: AK, AQ, AJ, KQ, KJ, QJ). So even though you have a lot of card combinations, so does your opponents. At a full table (9 players), you are up against 48 different card combinations, against your 6.

So in Omaha, you have to wait more than you would in Holdem, but a lot of people don't know that little secret.

Bty, HORSE is much tougher than playing Holdem, Omaha Hi/Lo, Razz, Stud, and Stud Hi/Lo seperatly. So be warned. If you play those games seperatly, then play a HORSE tournament, you probably won't last long. You need to switch up your game about 7 times more than you would in a regular one game tournament.

I'm not saying don't play HORSE, just that you may need to play it a while before you actually get the hang of HORSE. But good luck if you do, it is a really fun game.

The Life cereal commercial was one of the least understood and misquoted commercials ever.

The kids actually said something like "Let's give it to Mikey" with the response being "He wont eat it, he HATES everything"

Then to the kids surprise, Mikey chowed down because even though it was nutricious and was called LIFE cereal, it tasted good.

Do you really think they would try to sell a product with Mikeys' brothers hating it?

The question was 'If a tree falls in the middle of the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?'. If you place a recorder there, no one is around to hear it, and the tree can fall. I never said the recorder would make any sound, but I am saying to put a recorder in the middle of the forest, make a tree fall and have no one around to hear it. Then, listen to the recording and it would forever answer the question.

Plus, I personally think that it does make a sound. There is sound everywhere. Sound does not need a human or anything to make it audible. It just needs the sound waves spaced apart to make the audible sound.

Suprisingly, I know the answer to this.

The person who shot JFK was the person who was holding the gun.
