Default Your favourite poker game

Are you into some poker game over the other?

What is your favourite game? How about least favourite?

My favourite is PL Omaha hi/lo or hi and I also enjoy 5 card draw, Sökö (a finnish 5 card stud version), 7 card stud and Texas Holdem

I absolutely hate omaha NL hi/lo or NL OH Hi.

my least favorite is Razz, I have a fun enough time folding in a cash game to a few all ins and then saying "May the Worst Hand Win!" and then watching as a dominated J7 hits a 7 and wins the pot.

My most, Holdem, mainly because the Omaha game at the local pub is a joke, and I dont get around to playing much 7 stud, which I also like.

I have few games which i prefer.

Favourites are heads up PLO, and NLH. also fond of 6 max but i have to multi table.

Hate full ring PLO and NLH.

Love all horse games but i am the biggest Limit OH H/L fish ever.

These other ones you mention i have never heard of.

I like hold em,
stud,
horse.

I dig no limit better than limit. So I tend to stick to NLH.

But occasionaly I need to play a stud or horse game, just for sanity.
I try to play horse cuz it helps a lot with dealer choice home games.

I'm fond of it all...but if I had to pick a favorite I guess it would be NLHE just because that is what I play the most frequently. I like Pineapple, but it's hard to find online. Omaha's good...like that, but prefer HI over HI/LO...dunno why but I do. LOL

I love Manila (Its a bit like texas Holden, each player gets two cards & there's five community but you can only use three cards from the community cards. The community cards are dealt one at a time & you can bet/check/raise/reraise on each card as they are dealt)
My mates & I use to have a few beers & friendly game almost every week, before the Hold'em craze went into orbit & now we only get around to it once a month or so.
We also use to play at illegal & legal Casino's.The best was the Canberra Casino(only because we had a lot of luck in the place)But now unfortunately its all Hold'em everywhere, its getting harder & harder to get a game of Manilla.

I like Crazy pineapple especially when playing with friends, as its Texas Hold'em with added action. Everybody gets to see more flops.

As a recap in Pineapple you are dealt 3 hole cards, and you have to discard one card on the flop after betting is finished.

Default Pretty much all of them

I like and will try all games, so I voted other. I would have liked to see this as a check box poll to select all the games you like, besides that, thanks for the poll.

Here is a game not all may know, found it 20 years ago in some old book.

Iron Cross

Each player gets 3 down cards (some play 2 or 4, we have found 3 works best) and the community cards are in a cross pattern. 5 cards, 3 up and 3 accross with the middle card common to both rows. The dealer can place community cards into the cross while dealing at any time, but usually saves the middle card to the end after all have down cards and outside of cross is built, by setting the remaining deck into the center with the top card being the almighty river for both rows. Betting is progressive with left of the dealer betting first. Then an outside card is turned over on each row(2 cards total). 2nd bet by player remaining to the left of the first better. Turn over the other two outside cards (one from each row), move to the left for next bet starter, then flip the center card, move the first bet to the left again and then showdown. You can use 2 or all 3 cards from pockets but must select either the horizontal or vertical row of 3 cards to make your hand, you can not use a card from both rows on the board. Best 5 card hand wins.

Hey Vito...you know, I have actually heard of this game through my mother...according to her, it was derrived from a Tarot spread form, and turned into a card game! Pretty neat!

Im not sure what some of these games are like soko, telesina, americana. But a few years ago when we were playing a dealers choice home game at my friends house, I 'created' a new game called Ultimo which is similar to Omaha. In Ultimo, each player is dealt 4 cards and the game is played out like Omaha. The only difference is that players are not restricted to using 2 and only 2 cards. So they can use 0 cards and play the board, or use all 4 in their hand and start off with quads lol. Is Ultimo any of the games i mentioned above? If not, you guys should give Ultimo a try, lotta action, lotta action.

Well, I love 5 card stud with 4 card straights and 4 card flushes counting but you won't find anyone playing it. You might get it into a home game if you have an adventurous group. I am also a huge fan of draw poker too, if playing with the right people.

For the poll, I selected 7 card stud because I love that game probably more than any other. I was raised playing it. I love razz and I love H/L split... with or without a qualifier... as well as normal stud hi. I think stud is such an interesting game because so much is open for you to know about what other people have. The strategy can be very complex depending on who you're playing and what cards are known.
