Sorry, but thats not a donkey move. It's just simply a bad beat. I have a saying in poker: 'You can never blame the person who goes all-in first.' Most of the time when they do this, they are trying to push you off your hand. There was a TON of hands that could have beaten Kings on that flop. I'm pretty sure someone at the table layed down two pair, or maybe even a straight.

I dunno, I have to say that I don't know a single good player who would happily push all-in pre-flop with only a pair of ducks against a raiser...looked pretty donk-ish to me...and the flop just added insult to injury

Its not a donkey move to go all in pre flop with a pair of deuces?? I'm simply going to have to bite my tongue here.

yes and no to this question. Depending on your read of the opp. you could be slightly ahead or mildly ahead (no more than 60% to win ever). AK .v. 22 is like 47% .v. 53% virtually a coin flip, he might have put you on that and thought you might wanted to race some.

Don't call people donkeys for making decent moves. He played what he thought was correct and he beat you.

Donkeys don't play 22 (it doesn't have enough suckout value), they play cards that flop messed up looking straights that need runner runner to get to the str8 and they hit it! those people are donkeys!

Some players have a habit of limp re-raising a wide range of hands trying to represent AA/KK. It's just so rare in reality for people to really limp re-raise AA/KK that normally one can call those guys down with medium pairs or better and AK (maybe AQ, just maybe). So normally it's a bit donkeyish play, but as many things, in the right circumstances it's a good play.

Bad beats happen.

Besides the personal slam this statement is correct. The third level of a $3 dollar tournament is laden with trouble.

What is it about online where people think they can take personal slams on someone in a public forum? The answer is you can not cold cock them in the mouth, as you would in person. The internet allows the feeble to act strong with out repercussion, thus no lessons learned in the weak mind.

Back to the original post:

You had the better hand and lost. KK against 22 is not 100% (81.5% to 17.9%, .5% tie in this case), and as long as it is not, you can and will lose on occassion. Even after this suckout you still had 1470 in chips, a decent amount at this blind level.

Bad play by the villian, but have seen plenty of lessor plays on the felt.

Later,
