Default Can you really avoid a suckout?

AA- suckout
KK- suckout
nutstraight - suckout
need I say more?

I've been playing for quite awhile online, but have never seen the amount of suckouts recently, EVER!

Please tell me why you would risk your chip stack on a draw.

And yes I do realize that poker offers the opportunity for the suckout, it's very frustrating to understand the mindset.

Is the suckout a hail mary?

If you could avoid suckouts, you could win the lottery on every attempt. Not even superman is immune to suckouts =\

Except that the lottery is inherently a suckout in itself... :-)
Or if there is a lottery in which you have better than a 50% chance to double your money, please let me know. I'd like to play it. Even if it's like the lottery has 9 outs with the turn and river to come and my hand is already made... I'll be more than happy to play that everyday all day long.

Default U can but that means not playing

Its always going to happen is the worst part. It wont stop until you do. It's perpetual. It's obvious there is only one way to avoid a suck out, and thats not being in the hand, thus not recieving the beat.

We all chased str8s and flushes ect when we first started out. Then we all learned how to play right. Not every one plays at the same level obviously and these are the people that you are running into. When they learn to play right that person won't make the same call he did then. Problem is there will be another 50 people to take his place. What I am saying though is you, me, and every one else has done it also. Sure it might have been decades ago but we did. It was because we didnt know how to play right is all. NEWBIES. Explains a bit of the mindset.

Well I was in a ring game today with King donk himself . I mean every hand this guy would go all in. (which I can proudly say I have never done decades ago or at any time) I folded like 4 or 5 hands which he went all in every time. 3 times ppl called him and crushed him. he showed hands like 93 8 10 j 7 would lose and reload again. none of em even suited.

Anyway I call blind with A 10 hearts everyone folded to him , again proceeds all In. At this point I Knew my Ace was probably best to this donk. I was about 80% sure. I also had a bad feeling about the hand though since it had been a bit of a rough day for me . Now with 80% best hand I have to call, even with a bad feeling. I know I could have folded A 10 sucks big time normally. But to this guy it was a MONSTER and I knew it.

Screw it I'll gamble. VOILA good read read as he produces K2 spades. Guess who ends up doubling this guy up to a spade flush?

Point is I even had a feeling the guy might suck out on me for some reason. But I was pretty positive I had the best hand and the only way to lose would be to a suck out. So do I quit because I feel some one might suck out when I feel I have the best hand. In my expierience no matter what you have to play if you think your better. Yes I doubled the guy up, But I got my money in best so how can I rate that a mistake.

People cant suck out forever. So when they dont suck out you get to bust em.

We must all remember though, we ourselves have sucked out also at one point or another.
Best thing to do is not let it get to you, get ya tilting sort of thing.

I would consider a suck out a Hail mary if it was a fairly expierienced player.

Default just one question

I really need to know if becoming a suck out specialist is really what I need to be striving for?

You see these rags for hands win a lot.
Mircale cards hitting on the river.

Just loosen up a little.

I am going to try this and gamble.

No.

You know these players are playing horribly and will eventually go bust if they carry on. Why on earth would you even consider copying that?.

Just stick to your game (presuming you are a winning player) and make sure they pay heavily for their draws.

Default right on the money

You are absolutly right!
I can't seem to play like a suckout specialist.
I am a witness to the cruellity, but will stand my ground.
Good advise.
