Default Inside My Brain (Free Ride)

First of all this is written in a very stable Molson Canadian (beer) mind. But I am going to delve anyhow since rakeback is the place to explore and expand your poker mind. And I like it here, so enjoy.....

The regulars here, newbies, guests and Rakeback staff have all played and have written many things about poker. We all play for hours at a time at our normal game(s), sometimes or often we play a variety of others. We come here and post about poker; hands, bets, bad beats, triumphs, this, that and the other thing. There is always an underlying theme that must be stated. Maybe it is said enough, but I am going to blurt it out again, "I LOVE POKER"! I have always been a game player from youth. From cards to growing up with pong to what we have now, I have seen it and played a great deal of it and enjoyed 99.99% of each and every game I have ever played. But the one game that pulls at me is Poker. Why? Maybe it is the thought of possible early retirement, maybe ego (not my style), competition; yes a good game is always fun. What ever, The true pull is poker is my (and probably/hopefully your) favorite game. Of the hundreds or thousands of types of games I have tried or studied, poker is the one that always ends up on top.

Call me simple, but I like the fact I can play this game at a very large table. As people, we should appreciate the opportunity to sit down with players from around the planet Earth at any time of the day or night and play the game that we are all enamored with. Come on, even with the technology ingrained in us, is it not intriguing when your are playing with someone from here, there and anywhere? I am but one poker player on this impressive planet, but I get to play with all. There are countless players on this rock; we all sit down and play according to set rules, we all play our style or feelings and move on, win or lose. We start the next game, the next adventure. That makes this game even greater than most worldly events could strive to be; no politics, no religion or personal bias........just people sitting down to play a simple game with paper and clay objects to enjoy the limited time they have together in a place we all call the 'Universe'.

Shuffle Up and Deal.........

aggreed, i absolutely would quit playing if i could. sure it is fun to play as an ego trip with friends, but since im dependent upon it for an income, i extremely hate the swings.

Default 6 Of One, Half Dozen to others

One persons garbage is anothers treasure.

One persons job is anothers passion.

As with everything, everyone makes choices and has to live with them. If you hate your job, find another. If it pays the bills, take it for what it is, a job. For me poker is both income and a hobby.

Boy, I was hammered when I started this thread, oh well, not bad for a drunkie, a little sappy, but I agree with most of what I said.

Later,
