Of course AA is the monster everyone likes to see when the cards are dealt, but what happens when you get dealt one of the other pocket pairs? How do you play them? How do you like them?
Here are some of my thoughts of pockets:
AA - No brainer, before flop, no fear, play smart after flop, must be able to fold if necessary
KK - The last of the big pairs, only 4 overcards (A), not too much concern, if you run into AA, bad timing
QQ-JJ - Kinda on their own, higher rank value, but 12 over cards, race and over pair problems
1010-77 - Mid pairs, still a chance of being top pair after flop, may need set or bluff to win
66-22 - Hoping to flop a set or bet out after flop to take down pot
As with any answer in poker, the situation determines action, but give us some of your thoughts on getting dealt a pocket pair.
Thanks,
