I'd raise with 10-10, in middle position if no one raised before me. If they did raise it; I'd probably call if aslong as i didn't have to commit all of my chips.

I'd raise 3X BB as long as there are no crazy raises... further betting depends on the flop and the action

Default Early Play

If we are at the first level of 10-20 with 1500 starting (low limit games $2-10) I would not raise from early position with 10s. I have found a 3 times raise from under the gun or second to act will just attract 3-4 callers when the blinds are so low and you will need flop help to continue with the betting (or risk a bluff from early position hoping no one else hit the flop). I would raise 3-4 times BB once the blinds are in the 25-50 and up area when the money is actually going to dent someones stack.

If I am in a higher dollar game (20-30), the early raise should garner more respect and may be played more consistantly.

Every situation deserves something different.

I'm a little bit new around here, so take this with a gran of salt.... by the looks of the second hand, Seat 6: Johnm2402 (2222 in chips), won the frist hand... did you better your hand before you folded and if you did, you got out (I assuming because someone went all-in) did your cards hold up as best or did one of the other players that stayed, have a better hand? Any hand I'm going to play, after looking at my hand and seeing how everyone before me are betting, I ask myself, will I bet all my chips on these cards in my hand.... anyways, there's now 9 players lefted, your tied for last in chips, I didn't see what your down cards were in the second hand, but I would play tight, wait for a "good" hand (pick your battle) and than play to win.... good luck out there and I hope there's something here that will help you sometime....

Default Sit and go and advice

Not related to the hand, use the classic strategy of starting off really tight for the first few levels possibly trying to see cheap flops with small pocket pairs and soooted connectors in the hope of hitting sets/str8s and stacking someone early on. When the blinds starting getting big (does take a while on stars) basically then become a pushbot, no point fannying around with raises, just push, this is especially true around the bubble, if you walk into a big hand, so be it. But most people at that stage won't call you with anything less than large pocket pairs or AQ+.

If you are really serious about sngs, you should look into ICM (independent chip model) you can get tools to assist you in this and is basically a push/fold strategy. I think one of the best sites for info/tools on this is The SitNGo Wizard - Home for the ICM calculator, another usefull site is www.sngicons.com

Possibly using SharkScope - The Largest Online Poker Tournament Results Database to get some feel of your opponents, I used to use the 5 free searches a day and put them on the notes of the players, but there are so many players on stars, I am not sure if this was any use.

So be patient at the start, don't be frightened to put your chips in first with any two cards at bubble time.

I am GothmanUK on stars, so sharkscope me if you want

And good luck at the tables.

More often than not, I'll limp hoping to flop a set. Occasionally I'll raise 3XBB and fold to aggression if over cards hit the flop. There's no sense in committing a large number of chips with this hand pre flop or post flop without connection to the board.
If you do raise 3XBB and get re raised, chances are you are way behind already and need a miracle flop to pull ahead in the hand. You are also not in too deep to fold to a re raise pre flop and maintain a tight table image.
