Default Why do you play Poker

I started playing for pennies since I was about 7 and just fell in love with the game immediately. This was long before computers and TV poker. The game calls to me and it just feels great to play poker.

It is a perfect game when it comes to the ranks of hands mixed with betting structures. Each game is unique and it never gets boring. You can see it in a poker players eyes when they talk about the game, true passion flows.

Unlike other sports, we can play poker well into our pasture days and still compete and enjoy the game for a lifetime.

Thanks,

I couldn't have said it better myself. I've been playing since I was a small child also, and to see how it has grown and changed and all the various games now...it's just amazing. I wouldn't say I'm addicted, but I do love the game. To me addicton means not knowing when to quit, and I've got that skill mastered after much discipline. LOL Good thread, thanks!

Good thread!

I remember those old penny/candy games. Used to love em. Especially around halloween.

We played games like poker, tunk, rummy. Then my nephew and I realized that we did'nt have to play for pennies or candy. We could play for other things too. OMFG

Got ourselves in to a monthly tunk game.(well really my nephew, and I would tag along) Only game I've been in where foodstamps were betting material. lol

Hell at 13 we paid for a trip to kings dominion(Amusement park) on cards alone. Made our money on the bus ride up, and enjoyed ourselves the whole time we were there.

I started playing poker dice when I was a little kid in a large family but never played the card game until two years ago. Following seven months recuperation from surgery where I had little else to do except play online poker, I became hooked. I've deposited on one site, all the others are funded from FR winnings. Just takes patience.
