| What is your position in relation to the other player?? That I'd need to know before making this decision...I mean I see you say he is first to act, but if he's not in either of the blind positions, then I'd say NO GUTS NO GLORY...GO FOR IT... I'd say either one of them has the King of diamonds, or if one is in the blinds there's a slim chance they could have either a small flush or a straight or just a plain old draw...Where did this happen? I mean like in a cash game or a tourney...and what point was it at in the tourney if so? Sorry I'm sleepy I know I'm asking a lot of questions LOL ![]()

| Okay well since you edited, I'm still thinking go for it LOL I'm not necessarily thinking in terms of the flush, but moreso the likelihood that the aces could possibly be best.

| Well I am not great at figuring all the variables in my head and I don't use any software, but I'd guess-timate a tad higher than that only because of holding the A of diamonds...

| Good point, Stoff, but in the case of the river card, it's just one of those things where you have to either grit and bear it or fold what could be the best hand. Every hand is a learning tool for future play. If you lose, then think of it this way: You just gained helpful information on the other players you were up against, because since it is an all in situation, after the river the cards will be shown, and you will get to see what they were playing against you with. There's always some good to be found in the bad, you just have to get past your frustration and take note of it. ![]()

| How did you end up with 5 people in this hand? It's obviously not a limit game if someone makes a pot sized bet later. What was the pre-flop action and what size stacks did everyone start with? What were the bet sizes and what is the pot size on the turn as well as the size of the bet you're calling?

| Everyone started this hand with 1500 chips? I have my doubts about that at this point. It's 80/160... is the table still 9 handed? Why are you limping AA here? This is exactly what you don't want to happen.

| Rule #1 of playing premium pairs: Don't limp from the button. Your asking for your aces to get cracked letting 5 limpers see an unraised flop. You need to raise preflop at least 6BB. If you have callers, you should be overbetting the flop. The key here is isolation. If your play is allowing 5 limpers with aces, you need to give up after the turn. If you have a player asking for time, after facing a large bet, a player more than likely has you beat here with a set. If this player is weak, he maybe holding AKo here, but regardless more often than not you beat yourself in this hand by not raising PF or on the flop. Your aces are not invincible, and most probably facing aggression your more than certainly beat here. Also, what reads do you have on the players if any at all? |
