That's always a crappy thing to do and people who do that have no class. What makes things even worse is that more often than not, someone lashes at a player who isn't all too good/plain weak, and too often they drive the weak player, and his/her money, out of the table with their insults. How stupid is that?

It's very annoying. I never resort to insulting other players, unless they do it first.

Funniest thing is when someone insults me, I usually just agree on what insult he just makes.

'You are a fish!' 'Yes I am? What made u figure that out? I'm a golden trout.'

If any insulting goes on, I try to keep the player busy with the chat and take advantage of the mistakes he makes.

Once this dude insulted my play ('Learn to play, fish' )with connector cards in a limp in situation that was very juicy, and I agreed with him first. Then a few hands later, as he continued on with his insults, I stacked him with a good hand as he tried to bluff me out (I slowplayed a set if I remember it correctly) and I said the same exact words as he first used to insult me.

That felt good, plus I got a few laughs from the players in the table too.

I dont so much insult people. I mean, sure he called with 73 off suit and hits to pair... but the other 90% of the time ill win with AA.
But i will say a couple of words, not directed so much at him... but more to get my tilt out of the way.
Then move on.
Some where in there I will say... "NH"... before or after calling him a "donk" hehe.
But defo not insulting to the extent of chat being baned or what not. I don't think im that bad.
I hope not.

I don't like insults...personally I think a lot of people do it to attempt to tilt a player and take their money. If someone donks a lot, I may ask why they played a particular hand, but only to dig for information. Many times they will gladly give up information like "because it was suited" and that helps determine a lot. So when they answer, I just lol and congratulate them on their luck (and them not knowing that they just told the entire table a helpful chunk of information) LOL

I get so pissed off when somebody stacks me doing something stupid. I'm never overly agressive or insulting but do talk rubbish in the chat box. Just like how can you call? blah blah.

I know its bad so recently all i do is type lol. It's still stupid and very imaature but t least i am getting better;

Default No threat

I have said before, the internet is the new wild west where anything goes and people get very bold. Without the threat of a punch in the face people will say anything they feel. I do not let the chat donks bother me or get in the way. I can simply right click on their icon and disable that player's chat just like I am punching them in the nose to get them to shut up, and I do not have to worry about going to jail for it. So the next time someone gets out of line, simply punch them in the nose by disablling their chat, they can go on and on and they do not even know you are not listening.

Now go throw some punches.......

Yeah....that's one thing I don't really understand. If someone is a fish, you shouldn't insult them relentlessly, even though it is hard when they suckout. Don't tap the fish tank as I always say.

Yea. Agreed.

I just dont like bullies or ppl who act very rudely. My 'counter commenting' is my bad habit, but then again, I usually can cause a bit of laughs in the table too.

I usually tend to chat alot and make myself confy in the table by doing this.

Let's be glad for the "mute" and/or "chat off" selections available on most online poker sites. I will not hesitate to use it.

I have to admit lady has fussed at me a time or two for getting involved with the chatters who are bad mouthing people because they get under my skin by calling people names and then I can't help I get sucked into it. I don't do any bad mouthing but I do give people guff for doing it to other people. But lady is right I should not say anything just block the chat and focus on playing.

Yep...don't bother getting involved because there is no point getting yourself all riled up over nonsense. Focus on your game and improving...let the idiots go off at each other amongst themselves LOL

I've been known to call a donk a donk when it's obvious that they aren't playing poker, but rather pokerlotto. Repeated all-in bets or re-raises with absolutely nothing worthy of playing with and they simply are on the 'I hope this hits but if not I'll find another freeroll' strategy.

No good can possibly come of it. At best you're making yourself look like a prick, and a lot of the time it either scares them off or makes them think "hmm, maybe I should learn a bit more about this game", either of which results in less money.

I don't get the feeling it makes me look like prick when there is a sudden reply from a few other players agreeing with me. Also I hope it does make them think that maybe they should learn more about the way the game is played. Unfortunately many are the freeroll jumpers who have 3-4 games going at the same time and are only looking to get lucky and hit a few big pots at 1 or 2 sites so they get a jump on the others and then bully bet with crap later as they force folds with all ins at the turns or hope their crap cards hit if someone holding good ones calls.

They have no interest in playing a better game.Strictly hoping to BS their way to ITM. Fortunately most miss. Unfortunately, they disrupt the game for most. Most players are not the all in donk players and will fold to pre-flop all ins. Even with very good hole cards because they know it's crap shoot that can see a pair of ducks hit.Or a 23o take the pot.

Insted of hurling insults, I keep very detailed notes on opponents. Chances are I will play them again and Ill know what to expect. For example a guy pushes all-in with 9-10 suited cuz its his favorite hand, Ill make a note of it and other curious plays that person makes, along with any insults or names I might want to call them.
