Default To my friends

I want to apologize for my absence yesterday for the PTOTW. I cannot stay on long...I'm borrowing a friend's computer as we are having to use their house for eating at the time...

At 2:21pm EST, our power went out. Not just out either...a very large tree took out about 15 powerlines and 4 poles on the outside of our complex, and our power is expected to be out for upwards of a week.

So I will miss you during this time, and I ask you keep your thoughts and prayers with us, as we have already lost all our foods, and not really sure how we are going to replace it being the middle of the month it will be two weeks before we can afford to go to the grocery again, as we just spent $150 on the groceries that are now spoiled.

Anyway I have to go now my friend needs his computer back...

Take care all...

Erica

Sorry to hear about that. That doesnt sound fun at all. Did you try putting some stuff in a cooler and saving it?

I had to do that in the ice storm last year. Lost power for 4 days; You dont realize how much you use it until you cant.

Good luck, and our prayers will be with you

the update is that our power is expected to be out for 10-14 days so there will be no saving anything. plus now our water is also off so we're having to travel a lot in order to eat and shower at friend's house. still under state of emergency...running out of money...and having to still go to work thru it all...there are some who lost their homes so i suppose the fact that our roof stayed on should bring some comfort.

Thanks just a heads up power came back on after being off for 4 days, and water followed. My father was kind enough to send us enough money to replace our groceries, so all's well. I still feel bad for some of my co-workers who are still without power to this day. Adding my thoughts and prayers to them.
