Default Phil Hellmuth and Mike Mattusow

Why do you think these two "poker brats" are so successful? Granted their skills cannot go unnoticed, but do you think their ranting antics are just a part of their strategy?

They're successful because they can pick apart weaker tournament players, and because tv time gives them sponsorship money. They are both huge losers in side games.

I heard Barry Greenstein table talking at last year's WSOP that Phil is very good at playing against a weak field. His antics should also throw off many players, but there is no way it is all intentional. Too genuine, give him an Oscar if its not

I would hope it's part of their strategy but I'm afraid it's also their natural personality lol , one is very successful because he can really play well when he's not acting like a 4 year old and the other is successful because he gets a lot of tv time acting like that lmao

Mike and Phil play solid poker most of the time and have wealth of experience in big tournaments. Mike is more of the gambler and melts down with questionable plays when it seems he's tired. Phil plays extremely tight and excels against weaker fields. Phils antics I believe are semi -true, I believe his antics are meant to intimdate and cause a weaker player to get off his game. Mike is my favorite player cause he represents the common poker player. His antics are more real emotion and more good natured than Phil's. Arrogance is what I feel with Phil. They make their money off weaker players thats the way poker is meant to be played.

because they are sick players. but also cuz amateurs dont mind donking off their chips to them so they can have a story about how a poker brat beat them in the WSOP.

Yup, heard that too. Some poker pro said that he is great against mediocre players, but mediocre against great players. Then again, 11 bracelets... you gotta be good.
