Default Reading this truley makes Scotty Nguyen the best

I am about to cry I am so emotional. I am not one to cry either, but to see my Idol, the person I look up to in poker, say these words in an interview right after he won the HORSE even at the WSOP, makes me almost want to cry. Here is the article:

Around the WSOP: Scotty Nguyen crowned $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. world champion

He goes on to say that he wishes he could have been playing with Stuey Unger, Chip Reese, Doyal Brunson. But two of them are passed, and he wanted to show them how much this title meant to them.

p.s. I picked him in my FullTiltPoker Poker Fantasy! That's $2m x 3 in fantasy dollars!

Edit: Apparantly FullTiltPoker didn't count my HORSE picks for some reason and I didn't get the fantasy dollars for that event.

p.p.s. Who do you think is the best poker player? Scotty Nguyen just proved it by winning the HORSE event, but by your standards, who is the best?

of all time? Chip Reese, I was always a huge fan of him in the past few years, I have the bluff mag that he covers right after his death.

Living, whew, thats tough. There are so many that can be considered the best in one way or another. I think I will stick with Chip, thats easy for me.

Lol, but I don't know this personally, but I hear Stu Unger (sp?) was the best tournament player of his time. I also agree, that Chip Reese (who I think the HORSE will be in his memorial now) was an excellent player. I only knew him for a few years, but in those few years, he proved he could be the best. And when he won that HORSE tournament, that just proved it.

But alive, I still think it's a toss up between Daniel Negreanu, and Scotty Nguyen.

I'm not sure if any one particular player can be considered the best.

There are a number of players that are among the best but to say definitively one is better than the other is like comparing apples to apples.

I think the best in skill level are limiited only to a handful of players, who on any given day, can win a big tourney depending on luck and timing.

Scotty is certainly one of the best and his story is a great one, but to say that he is the best of all time....i'm not so sure about.

Again, he's one of a handful of world class players and he deserved the $50k HORSE win.

It's not comparing Apples to Apples, it's more like comparing Fruit to Fruit. There is many different types, but some people prefer some more than others. They are all good, and go great in a fruit salad!

And that's why I say it's a toss up between Scotty and Daniel. I think there the two best poker players because they make amazing reads, make superb plays, and have fun doing it.

Best ever - Doyle Brunson
Best right now - Take your pick between Phil Ivey and Barry Greenstein.

Barry is an incredible player, extremely consistant on the tourney circuit. Phil has his swings, mostly out of personal boredom I assume, he could be the greatest if he tried.

Scotty was hilarious as he was drunk, vocal AND won the Horse Event!!!

Way to go, Baby!

There are so many great poker players I cannot pick a favorite. I do like Chris Ferguson, Daniel Negreanu, Annie Duke, and of course Scotty Baby.

Playing the FullTilt Fantasy Poker was great! I won many freerolls and a nice amount of cash from them as well. Looking forward to playing it again next year!

I must say that Phil Ivey was a let down. He should focus on the poker games, not the stupid prop bets...

Whats so funny about Annie Duke? She is one of the best poker players I know of. She won the exclusive $2m single table SnG sponsered by the WSOP. She beat Phil Hullmuth heads up for all of it. She even had to knock out her brother when it came to 3-handed. Not if that doesn't take some real guts, courage, and detirmination to poker, I don't know what is.

To quote Annie's telephone call to Howard after the end of the match:

"Hey....hey, yea, it's over....I won....Oh my God yea, I won...*nervous giggles*...Yeah....Oh my God....ohhhh wow...I can't believe it...ohhh God, I'm so sorry about the sixes, Howard, God I'm so sorry....."

Meanwhile Phil is being followed by cameras for 5 minutes after the loss ranting and complaining the whole way, but still manages to throw in "...but I love Annie, I really do..."

A bitter-sweet victory at its finest...
