| I was just wondering if any one else used a wireless connection for playing online poker? the reason I ask is for the scond time this week I lost my connection while playing 4 handed in a 9 player sit n go, only to get reconnected to see me busted out or all in w/ my last big blind. I'm considering just connecting directly to my modem to prevent this from happening again. any ideas? |

| I have used both wireless and DSL connections and sadly to say they both boot on occasion. It's just an internet flaw...not really much you can do to avoid it...that is unless you have a single separate computer JUST for playing poker. Build it with a monster memory, monster video card, monster sound card, monster processor and monster hard drive, then don't install anything on it but internet and all your poker sites....LOL That should work! LOLSadly to say I have actually considered doing this......and might still..... ![]()

| I also use AT&T but I must say that I personally believe it is my computer's fault when I do get booted. My laptop (which I sold) used a wireless connection and only booted a time or two, but it had very few programs on it, so that I contributed to the wireless signal. But my desktop (which I use now) has a LOT LOT LOT of programs and files saved on it, and sometimes it just boggs down when too many things are going at once. So when I get booted using the desktop, I attribute it to the fact that the PC is simply being over-worked. That is why I have considered building a separate computer for Poker play...just to see if my hunch is right. If not, then I can just sell it and get my money back on the parts LOL ![]() Something else that might work.........buy an external hard drive, take all your extra files off your computer (photos, mp3s, etc) and save them to the external hard drive. That will free up a lot of space in your computer's memory and possibly take away the freezing or booting problems, or at the least, it will lessen their occurrence. ![]()

| I also use AT&T for my wireless connection and I didn't seem to have this problem as often until I moved recently. So maybe my signal isn't as strong at my new place. |

| I think sometimes it has to do with the poker sites server as well. I use wireless and very rarely have problems, although have had problems at peak times.

| I use a wireless connection to play online almost every night. I have Road Runner and rarely drop my connection. I might get disconnected maybe 3 - 4 times a month. I can live with that. |
